Maybe tinman and I can start a petition to bring back Cassell and Horry. I'm only half-kidding. I'd sign a petition.

The beauty is, it actually works. And not just for nostalgia.

Both live in Houston. (I think.) Both help fill our needs. Both bring grit. Both bring toughness. (Well, in Horry's case, at least he brings grit for 5 or 6 important games in the playoffs.) Both are free agents. (I think.)

How frikkin' SWEET would it be to see Cassell and Horry finish their careers where it all began? Just imagine. Horry fires a crisp entry pass to Yao, just like he used to do to Hakeem. Yao gets doubled, he kicks it out to Cassell for a three... swish. Am I the only one who gets goosebumps?

its people like that that give the rookies a bad name.

    c-yao, deke
pf-howard,swift, Hayes:i dont think the rockets will trade swift, and i deubt anyone would take on howard's contract
sf-Tmac, bogans:tmac can probably switch between the sg and sf depends on match up
sg-FA/draft, head, wesley.-heres the position the rockets really need to strengthen, they need to get bigger and more 3 pt shooting to spread the floor
pg-Alston, sura, FA/draft:here is another position the rockets need to look at, if sura is healthy i would rather have him starting, but since thats probably wont be the case we would need to sign a pg since brunson probably wont be back

This team is a tital contender WHEN FULLY HEALTHY, but that probably wont be the case, TMAC's back probably will have problems again, so we need to bring in another scorer whither it be via FA, s/t, or the draft to spread the floor and prevent doubleteams on yao. And somebody that can penetrate as well bogans did a good job of takin it inside but have trouble sometimes finishing.

Absoluty. They better. He has been the one enjoyable mid season signing. Every team needs that hustle player that can put up 10-6 off the bench. Question is.. will he do that after the new contract?

I want TMac (healthy) and Ming. Mutombo is signed, he stays.Head and Hayes are projects, I like them. I want Howard and Alston as back-ups. I want a new starting PG, SG, and PF. I don't know their names, but they must be big, fast, tough, and can shoot. Also they must be mid-twenties and not from the Knicks. Swift is trade bait, I don't know why, but he is. Bye, bye. Brunson, Bogans, and Bowen (The Bumble B's), I want GONE. I don't care about the rest. If we get three legit NBA starters with "attitude" who can rebound, defend, and shoot, the Rockets could compete. If the Rockets stand pat, screwed.

Not even close. Even two All-Stars can't take a boat load of bench players to the big dance. Without an infusion of talent, especially, shooters, this team is going nowhere. They need AT LEAST three legit NBA starters who can score, rebound, and defend if they want to play with the big boys.

SG is now the weakest position in Rox. If we put him to SG, SF became the weakest.

Hmmmm well however bad this may sound, keeping Bogans or Bowen or whoever we pickup/draft at SF just for defensive purposes might work out with T-Mac having that size mismatch against most SG's he used to have.

We get better D at SG and then at SF....
However we lose one offense-savvy player in either David Wesley or whoever starts at SG.

This won't work in the long run though, it's not stable enough.

We need better supporting players if we want to be contenders, that's for sure.

Center: Yao/DEKE(keep him. he can block shots when yao is tired. + he is soo nice) ps: don't even dream about getting big Ben.. no money. If not, get Przybilla.
PF: Swift ( Swift is good.. when tmac is back. he can get open looks and knock down js)/ Hayes (Train him. he can rebound. just need to work on not making defensive mistakes)
SF: TMAC (uhh.. yea. our star) / Bogans (he's not as bad.. his D is good. he can drive in. need to work on 3's)
SG: head (don't worry. hell be a good shooter after this summer, need work on dribbling skill) / Josh Childress (plz get him. he's good. plus he is longer than most SGs) / Frahm
PG: i want SURA to start, but Rafer will be fine assuming SURA won't be the same nemore / get Claxton

Don't get jason terry. he wants to be a superstar ( and will be willing to take stupid shots).

    Bring back scotty

    alston/sura*/head
    sura*/wesley/bogans/reddick
    t-mac/bogans/reddick/bowen
    jho/swift/padgett
    yao/deke/swift

    *if healthy

obvious my lineup is contigent on sura being healthy and playing at the same level he played before the injury. i would trade the pick and draft down for reddick to help spread the floor, the guy cant do much except flat out shoot the rock. we need padgett back too a big guy who can shoot the three ball and help clear the lane if he is the entry passer to yao.

for an MLE i would spend it on a 2/3 versatile swingman i am not sure who is available this year but someone mentioned rasual butler and i dont think that is a bad choice.

I doubt Van Gundy would consider it, or if would ever happen, but the more I think of it, the more I like it. We should put T-Mac back at SG so he can go back to his more traditional role and have the same mismatches he used to. Then, we can get Posey (or someone along the lines) from the FA to play aggressive D and shoot the three ball at the SF position.

James Posey plays good defense and can shoot the 3, he would be a good fit. Anyone the Rockets could possibly get who could play D and shoot the ball would help. We would upgrade our starting D and still have Bogans/Bowen coming off the bench to give T-Mac/FA pickup a breather.

    T-Mac at SG?

"Doc Rivers moved Raef LaFrentz out of the starting lineup last night, and the veteran expressed himself with 20 points and eight rebounds in 26:27. Afterward he expressed displeasure with his continually changing situation. “What’s new?” LaFrentz said. “Adjusting to a different role. What the hell’s new? You know? That’s all I’ve got to say. What’s new?” He’d offered similar feelings before, and he shouted back as Rivers yelled when taking him out of the March 12 game against Denver (“He was communicating in a way that I didn’t necessarily appreciate,” LaFrentz said that night)." Boston Herald

"Asked last night if he was disturbed by the move to the second team, LaFrentz said, “I don’t give a (expletive). Whatever. I mean, why would I expect anything more? Why would I expect anything different from this group of coaches?" Boston Herald

DAMN- thats a full on situation! surely we could find home for Raef, a rangy big man.

anyway I'm of the belief we need to be done with Swift. Even if we have to waive him should no one want to trade for him. Whether he can contribute or not is besides the point, if JVG is the coach, Swift isn't going to play enough minutes to even warrant him eating up a roster spot. Same goes for RyBo.

    Anyway a

I've always liked Boozer, who should be on the block. Of course there are problems - injury, fat contract, oh and loyalty of course is questionable...
