I was in the car running errands around 4 when Don Jantzen said that he was only going to play the new Chili Peppers song, Dani California, the whole show. And sure enough, he did. Some people complained while others warmed up to the song. Count me as somebody who is just glad that a DJ is doing something he wants instead of just loading up the Clear Channel playlist and cruising for the next few hours.

Anyways, word got out to the Chili Peppers message board and people from around the world started emailing him and then freaking Chad Smith himself called in to talk to him, but he couldn't leak any dates for the new tour.

It was actually a pretty good song...Anthony Keidis (sp?) doesn't sound like he got kicked in the nuts...

I am definitely in the minority of people who enjoyed their last 2 CD's more than any of their others.

I guess since I wasn't that big of a fan before, I don't count as a fan, but I did enjoy most of the work off of the last two CD's.

Anthony's voice and some of his lyrics that sound like he used a rhyming dictionary still annoy me, but I am definitely in the minority.

Before anything else is said, I have to say "Blood Sugar Sex Magic" is the Chili Peppers masterpiece. It is one of the most classic albums since 1990. Red Hot Chili Peppers will always be considered good by me after that album. Their last two albums were good for what they were. They don't come close to BSSM, but bands evolve and change up their sound - which is good, nothing wrong with that - and that's what they did.

Now, I wouldn't call what they're doing a comeback. I'm thinkin' their gonna have one last album "Stadium Arcadium" which happens to be a double album, and then they will have a supporting tour. I can't wait for their last album; there doesn't really seem to be any other music coming out anytime soon from good bands.

Yeah, at the risk of sounding like a snob, I miss the old RHCP. Man, I miss Hillel. The chemistry between him, Anthony and Flea was really what drove them in the early days. Well, that and the heroin. But Hillel had The Funk.

I grew up listening to Freaky Styley, Uplift Mofo, along with their debut. I saw them in a half empty Sam Houston Coliseum back in 85 or 86 when no one knew who they were. This was in the middle of their "rock out with your **** out" era, if you catch my drift.

But yeah, I wish they would bring back the funk. They should get George Clinton to produce their next album like Freaky Styley.

Yeah, they really fell off with all the soft rock crap, but Mother's Milk and BSSM (all the early stuff as well) was incredible.

Don't kid yourself. The jock didn't do this because he wanted to, he did it because it was a marketing stunt developed in conjuction with the record company and they probably got paid to do it.

    I bet it made R&R.

I haven't heard the new Chili Peppers song but I am going to go out on a limb and say it sounds exactly like ever other song that they have put out in the last 10 years. All of their crap sounds EXACTLY the same and I cringe whenever they come on the radio. I loved their old stuff but I'm so turned off by their sound now that I can't hardly listen to it either.

I'm so glad hat I have XM and do not have to deal with stupid ass DJ's anymore. I loathe regular radio.

Uplift Mofo Party Plan was their best album.

That's when they were an organic anti-beatbox band.

I wouldn't say it was their best, but it certainly is one of my favs! That and Freaky Styley!

    Love those two records!

I like the new song - it's not as good as some of the RHCP classics, but it's definitely single-worthy and catchy. Hopefully some of the other songs on the record will have a little more punch to them.
