I agree with you about Yao's free throw attempts but..errr..chill out man, no need to get personal..that was uncalled for :-/ . Tis not like the guy was hating on Yao.

If I was Yao, I wouldn't want to foul out Kwame.

Mobley did a good defensive job against Kobe. Could we get him back? He is also a good 3 points shooter. Sign him back, please!!!

This is the first time I am so relaxed watching a rockets game. I did not even know which team I should root for. (I like Lakers too, though I usually root against them three times a year). So I just sit there and watch. Good plays, bad plays... they are all enjoyable to watch. As for the result, Lakers got what they wanted and Rockets got, dare I say, what they deserved. I mean, their play deseves it, and it does not hurt either given the current situation.

Seriously, I root for all the players in Rockets uniform. But I do not feel terribly bad if the admin let all but Yao and T-amc go before the start of next season. This team is going nowhere even when healthy T-mac is back.

Since he's become dominant he has. Look at the free throw number: Post-Break he has averaged 9.5 free throws a game, close to AI, D-Wade, Kobe, and Lebron,. Today was an aberration. I think Phil told Kwame to not foul Yao even if Yao starts scoring on him. Of course the price of not hacking Yao is that Yao can get his shot off easier, hence his 16/25 from the field on mostly uncontested turnaround J's.

IMO, Cuttino is EXACTLY the player the Rockets need. A good SG who doesn't get injured, plays lots of minutes, plays tough defense, has tons of heart, and shoots decently. Plus, he can get his shot off himself -- this team is so low on creators. I want Cat back.

I agree. Kwame is pretty much an unmovable post defender. He has done excellent jobs on Shaq and Yao in previous games. Yao played it pretty well. If a guy plants himself and decides to stay anchored to the floor, then just shoot over him. Kwame was not really contesting the shots, so Yao made a nice percentage.

oh please,.. dont say mobley again... did everyone forget how bad he did with the rockets.. I know he has a good Jump shot.. but he has nothing else...and dont say he did a good job on Kobe.. Kobe just had a bad game agianst him.. that fool cant defend worth a crap... he does alot of turnovers and he always slows the ball down, he cant pass well to Yao.. he cant do anything.. Please dont say we need to sign him.. I couldn't believe it when we got rid of him... that was the best day of my life ( we got T-mac instead)

I really hope the future of this team is not Ming and the seven dwarfs. If the Rockets needed more talent last year, what about now? Without Sura, Barry, James, and Padgett this team has taken a huge step backward. Not to mention TMac. And Ming is peaking. Between bad personnel decisions and injuries, this team is in a bad place. Very frustrating. Following Ming's box score is only fun for so long.

Amen to that! But to be honest, I never bought in to the contention that Sura would be back after his off season back surgery. Plus, Barry was too old and slow and they ended up wasting most of the year on him when he got injured. If you go back to the playoff blowout at Dallas, it was blatantly obvious that this team needed to get bigger and faster at the guard position. Obvious, it seems, to everybody but Dawson & the Rocket personnel evaluators. Instead, CD did what he's always done which is to look for cheap, interchangable (and disposable) players who simply don't match up against the better players in the West. As a result they have ended up with a smallish backcourt that shoots poorly and cannot match up defensively with the bigger (and better) backcourts in their conference.

What's done is done and mercifully another wasted season will soon be over but what is REALLY aggravating to me is that the Rockets face the same questions that they faced at the end of last season. It's as if this team and this organization is permanently stuck on a merry-go-round going in circles.

It's a brutal truth. A few fans consistently compliment CD as a good GM are trying to deny the fact that in CD's 10 years tenure, if we take away the 1st year, CD has a 0-4 playoffs record (4 1st round exit). A GM should be measured by his playoffs record instead of some good trades versus some bad trades.

As for the Rockets, CD shall try as hard as possible to trade the 1st round draft pick or whatever he gets in hand for anybody who can help in positions 1, 2, & 4, and the bench in this summer. If the Rockets use the 1st round pick to draft a player, I cant see the player will give the Rockets too much help in the next couple of years. This draft is weak. There's no Andrew Bogut, or Chris Paul, or Deron Williams, or even Raymond Felton. This draft only gets some good prospects that need time to mature.

But, it's always the same old, same old CD & JVG. I wont expect too much surprises. The fans will have some fun in the next regular season as long as the Rockets have Yao & T-Mac. As for the playoff run, the fans can only say a prayer.

I fully agree guys, this organization needs some fresh thinking on personnel. Surely JVG can't be happy with the talent he has. Our backcourt even with Wesley back is inferior to ALL the upper level teams and many of the lottery teams. Head has potential, but he is a bench player at best. Surely the "Bumble B's" (Bogans, Brunson, and Bowen) won't be back. I still say Alston and Howard are decent reserves. Swift is a space cadet. Somebody help us!

Sorry I didn't mean to offend...its just that the timing is kinda off. I've never seen this much new member flowing a loss and was wondering what's the deal was. I guess it was the free registration. My initial delivery was pretty harsh and I apoligize for that.

Hummm... Is there an antinewbie sentiment on this board? for what? Because they did not pay the fee like you did? because some of them do not express themselve in English as well as you do? Because Rockets had a bad season and you are in a bad mood, you have to find a way to vent? I thought this board was friendly, for a simple fact we all care about the Rockets.

I am a newbie by your standard though I have been around for a while and I consider myself a Rockets fan. Yes, I did not start to watch the Rockets game until Yao got here. But all the Rockets fans are not born Rockets fans, most of them started from somewhere. I can sense some of you beleive a YOF-turned-Rockets-Fan is not that authentic.

If it is for the reason of the fee, take it easy, man. People have different views for a fee like this, and react differently. I was going to pay the fee the very first time I visited this board. When I pulled out my creditcard and went to the processing page, I got upset. I saw the page was not for this board only and beleived it was a commercial site. I am still not sure if this is true. But I beleive I am not the only one feel that way after seeing the processing page. As for those guys from China, many of them just can not make the transaction in USD, and some of them hate to see their love to Yao and the Rockets is turned into a business interest. Whether it sounds strange, it is the way many Chinese think.

If you are concerned the quality of this BBS because of the (Chinese) newbie, take it easy, again. There have been some "non-standard" posts because of newbies' over excitement or because of the language barrier. That will leave clutch to take some accordingly restraint. I just find my "new thread" privilege revoked. I have no complain though I had never used them.
on the other hand, if you are a little open minded, it may not be that bad seeing Rockets have so many international fans and show their support in a language they struggle to use. (try a post in Chinese with a dictionary in your left hand while typing with your right hand, you will see what I mean).

If you just want to vent, do NOT take it easy. Take it hard, really hard, yes harder. kick yourself, slap yourself, whatever you can do to make you feel better. I feel it for you.

    Go Rockets!
