Billups and Nash have very similar averages for the season. While what Nash has done for the Suns is very commendable, let's not forget Billups is the driving force behind the NBA's best team record-wise.

You make it sound as if the box of crayons are all only one color. Billups has had arguably just as good/if not better a season than Nash and is most certainly worthy of consideration.

There is no way the media will make yao as the center for the all nba first team!

The media will make sure that it's "I am in serious downhill" Shaq or 7ppg Ben Wallace whose names are on the 1st and 2rd team all NBA. They will argue that the Pistons does not need Ben to score any points, and his defense is worth 30+ ppg.

    baller4life..

Im not taking anything away from Billups at all. I agree that he has had a stand-out year.
It' true that Billups is 'leading' the team with the best record in the NBA, but have a look at what he has to work with. You could argue that there isnt a hole in that whole starting 5.
Meanwhile, Nash is leading his team to an also impressive record with the likes of B. Diaw, R. Bell, J. jones and Shawn marion as his starting 5 counterparts.

Would Nash on the Pistons in place of Billups make the Pistons a better team? I dont know. Maybe, Maybe not

Would Billups make the Suns a better team? Definately not.

If you take billups and nash out the whole equation together - The suns would not be able to compete, while the Pistons most probbaly could.

Nash should be the MVP because he is just so ridiculously valuable to his team.
Also i dont want to get into a the whole statistical side of it, but the comparisons are..

    Nash 19.5PPG 4.3RPG 10.5 APG .515%FG .90+%FT .439%3PT
    Billups 18.8PPG 3.2RPG 8.8APG .414%FG .90+%FT .430%3PT

I think it would be an absolute travesty if Ben Wallace made first team ahead of Yao. There's no question Yao deserves an exception this year, since it's clear anyone who doesn't think he's the best center in the NBA is a fool at this point.

And Nash definitely has to be on the 1st team. So does Dirk, as much as I despise him. Tony Parker does not deserve a spot on the 3rd team ahead of people like Iverson and Arenas.

Other choices are obvious ... Kobe, Wade and Redd for SG, LeBron, Pierce and Marion for SF.

    C: Yao (who else?)
PF: Brand (Duncan is still a superior player, but Brand is playing better)
SF: Lebron (only because Tmac is injuried most of the season)
SG: Kobe (many people hate him but no one can deny that he's good)
PG: Nash (he's the Suns' team)

Kobe EASILY wins the BEST single game performance of the year award.
But I'd argue that he is not a runaway choice for 1st team all NBA OVER Wade. I know your as big a fan of Wade as I am and I like you realize that kobe and Nash is probably the concensus guards for 1st nba.

However I'd argue that Wade deserves the honor as much if not more than Kobe. Wade is argueably having a BETTER season than Kobe statistically. Despite the fact that Kobe leads the leauge with a 34.7 scoring avg, Wade is better. WHy? How? Simple... Wade simply outperforms him in Assists, Rebounds and Efficeincy.

    Wade avgs 5.8 rbs 6.8 ast fg 50% adj fg% 502 1.46 pps!
    Kobes avgs 5.3 rbs 4.6 ast fg 44% adj fg% 483 1.28pps.

Wade avgs half a rebound more and than 2+ assists more per game. His field goal percentage is 50% while kobes is 44% and while both are among the lead leaders in free throw attmpted and made, Wade draws 1 more attmpt a game. Furthermore while Wade avgs *only* 28.1 points a game he also take significantly less shots.

Kobes requires 27 shots to score 34.7

Wade requires 19 shots to score 28.1

Wade requires 8 less shots to score 6.6 less points & requiring only 19 attempts to score 28 per game is incredible!

Asides from just the raw data, Wade significantly outperforms Kobe in PER avgs, 82 games' ROLAND RATINGS, plus minus numbers and NBA efficiency. Furthermore Wade has atleast equal if not surpass Kobe in terms of clutch play and 4th quarter heriocs... atleast this season.

There is one thing that kobe arguebly still does better than wade besides scoring... And its defense, though thats a debateable issue or atleast not a pronounce one. Though Wade avgs 0.8 blocks a game Kobe 0.4 and both avg the same amount of steals and the avg PER of their opposing sg is the same, you'd have to give Kobe a slight edge.

Of course in all probability the likely scenario is Nash/Kobe and not Nash/Wade will be the two guards receiving all nba 1st team honor.
And yeah.... Nash is a lock. Yao on the other hand....

Pierce has a great season, but does he or anyone else plays more terrifically than Lebron does?( Maybe except Kobe)
