IS NOTHING. I LOVE HIM. I love his passion. I like how he supports his teammates. I like how he tries to be so hard on himself and tries to get better. I like his close to 90% Ft. I like him averaging a double double. We just witnessed our baby Yao grow into an upstoppable force. I only hope when tracy comes back, he let yao do his thing and we will be whooping everyone's jabroni ass (man i remember when "The Rock" was popular") all over the western and eastern conference!
I don't like his unwillingness to demand the ball in the second half of games when his teammates start chucking the ball from outside and forget he's on the court.
When tracy gets back, he'll help yao get even better shots... tracy draws double or triple teams, hence yao will get better looks.
Lol. Another Yao-Love thread. Oh Well, I guess there isn't much else positive to talk about this year.
Yeah, honestly I don't know what JVG likes about Brunson. I'd rather have Moochie as backup PG. He doesn't even really seem to be a JVG type of player. It would be one thing if he realized his limitations and hustled and played D. But for this game at least, all I saw him doing was going 1-on-4 to brick bad 20-foot jumpshots on consecutive possessions (conveniently ignoring the fact that he had the best center in the league getting ready to set up on the block). In theory I have no problem with JVG placing a preference on tough, smart players to complement our superstars. But as some of these guys continuously make boneheaded plays in addition to the usual inability to make a freaking shot, then perhaps we need to reevaluate our player acquisition strategy.
he's ****in soft!!!!name me another all star starting center who grabbed an astounding zero rebounds in a game ? none of those all star starting centers ever did what yao did!!!!!! he has had a good couple of games. i honestly dont like him too much, i think he is over-rated, and not deserving of being an all-star. Dampier got 26 boards one time. And everybody knows he's soft. Yao had a good couple of nights. He's still soft. PLUS the way he can play only is limited ,ugly....................................
Did Yao screw you're mama or something?.. so much hate for 1 guy?,,, it's unhealthy.. learn to like...
T-Mac does not take away from his team mates, he adds to their games. Yao will be even more unstoppable with T-Mac back because they won't be able to even THINK about double-teaming Yao without regretting it badly. T-Mac will keep the defense honest and Yao will murder any center on the low block nightly. Watch out, the Rockets will be back.
What Jeff Van Gundy likes about Brunson is 1. He's a former Knick 2. He's old 3. He's slow 4. He can't shoot a jump shot 5. He can't defend a fire hydrant 6. He will be out of the NBA in less than one year Mark Jackson Charlie Ward Rod Strickland Moochie Norris (former Knick you know) Rick Brunson ........................................next
OK. You "dont like him too much" (Yao, that is). He is "not deserving of being an all-star". Name me 5 centers (not PFs) in the NBA you wished the Rockets had this season instead of Yao. "he has had a good couple of games". Yao's averages for THE SEASON are 22 pts, 10 rebs, 1.7 blks, 1.5 ast, 2.4 TOs per game. Since the All-Star break, he's been on a 27/12 clip with a pathetic squad around him. As you see it, how many games is a "couple of games"? "PLUS the way he can play only is limited ,ugly". Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Those turnarounds over Kwame looked sweet to me.
If you or I were playing PG for the Rockets, do we really need Yao to demand the ball from us? Wouldn't we try to get it to him every time? For the life of me, I just can't understand why Bogans, Luther, and Rafer were chucking up shots in the 3rd quarter without looking for Yao first.
That's the problem. Our role players have no IQ without T-Mac on the court. They should KNOW to get the ball to Yao every time down the court on offense. Our role players need more on court IQ. Our motherf*cking coach needs to go over game film 24/7 until they realize what they are doing wrong. It's everyone's fault, including Yao. He needs to smack them around a little in the timeout and tell them "GET ME THE F*CKING BALL". But he's too nice to do that.
