As of right now, the Rockets are 4 and a half games behind the Kings for the 8th Playoff spot. However, during their last ten games, they play 8 playoff teams, and they also play the Rockets. For our last ten games, we only play 3 playoff teams, but playing San Antonio on the last game of the season when they will probably rest their starters doesnt really count. My question is, if the Rockets win the next 5 games, and make things interesting, does McGrady come back? I remember hearing he might be back for the last 5 games of the season. If we can win our next 5 games, there will be a legit shot of us actually getting in the playoffs. If that were to happen, would TMAC come back?
If we win the next 5 games, I think TMac will come back for sure even if he's not 100%. He will have the entire offseason to rest his back.
If we win the next 5 games ,He will be back . Then we cant win the last 5 games . That will be really funny! haha
It's dependent on the road trip. If we go 5-1 or 6-0, then he should be back the first game back vs. Minnesota. Memphis has been struggling lately, and SA will rest their players for the last game, so playoffs are still within reach.
He will be back for the pre-season. Like I said in other threads, it is not worth the risk for him to come back this season. EDIT: Tmac came back twice this season and he re-injured himself for each time, AND it took him longer each time to come back. Let him rest and heal 100%!
WHY risk him ??? If this team can continue to win the next 5 road trip games to keep the playoff hope alive, they can win the rest. Let TMAC rest more on his his broke back. We may need him if we can reach playoff......or he can take rest for this season, and come back a healthy TMAC by October.
still no reports on T-Mac's condition or progress? i have a hard time believing 4 weeks of rest has done nothing to his overall health (knees, any other back issues, etc.). he's sure to be rusty when he comes back, but then look at what 5 weeks off did for Yao.
Well even though I'm a diehard Yao Ming fan, just to be objective, that's not fair to TMAC. When Yao Ming was sidelined for that 6 weeks (from Dec 18 ~ January 29), the main problem was with his toe, and not the rest of his body. If you had followed his news in that 6 weeks, other than the first 10 days or so that he had to be confined to his bed in the hospital and at home, watching game video to analyse the opponents' games and his own weaknesses, the rest of the month was devoted to swimming, biking, strength and conditioning exercise in the gym (for strengthening his upper limb muscles) etc, so as to keep himself in competitive shape and form. Other than maybe watching game video to analyse the opponents' games and his own weaknesses, what can TMAC do with his broke back during all these while ??? He can't do all those gym exercises without risking or further aggravating his brokeback until he gets well. So don't expect him to come back to play unaffected. I'd rather he takes the rest of the season off to recuperate, if the Rockets fail to make it to the playoff.
The Rox are trying to tank the season, having Tmac and Wesley out, but they still end up winning....can't do rong wright.
TMAC or no TMAC, the Rockets aren't going anywhere if they make the playoffs. San Antonio will beat us no matter what. We were beat by Dallas last year and we are not as good as we were last year. Don't ruin TMAC's recovery for a meaningful season next year on an embarassing first round sweep.
