I see that ESPN has Tyson Chandler listed at 7'1" and 195 lbs! Can that even be POSSIBLE?!? I've never actually seen him, but it almost seems mutant like to be that tall and yet that skinny. I'm picturing tall, skinny guys like Marcus Camby and Carlos Rogers and then I subtract another 15-20 lbs. off of them to get Chandler's dimensions. Jonathan Bender even weighed more than that. Yeah, Chandler is 18 years old, but that's almost bordering on malnutrition. ------------------
I've heard people saying he might even move to the 3, so his lack of pounds wouldn't be such an issue. He's got a good shot too, from what I hear, so that would make the transition to the 3 that much easier. I think Garnett's only 220, so it's not unlikely that Chandler could put on a few pounds over the summer and play power forward. I'm sure Garnett was even lighter when he first came into the league, than his current weight of 220. ------------------
Langhi - 6-11 220 Miles - 6-9 202 On a side note ESPN says Jermaine O'Neal is also 6'11 and only has 6 lbs on Langhi. I didn't realize O'Neal was as thin as Lanky. [This message has been edited by Band Geek Mobster (edited April 14, 2001).]
Okay, guys...picture each of those players y'all have mentioned and ADD an inch or two and SUBTRACT about 10-15 pounds. You've got yourself an image of Tyson Chandler, as he's listed by ESPN. Ten to fifteen might not sound like much, but it's got to make a difference somehow. Garnett hasn't gained 25 lbs since his rookie year, so you know that he came in with more weight than Chandler. Besides, he is a freak of nature with his athleticism and he still doesn't play the 3 full time. I will concede that body type is more important than actual pounds, but, again, 195 sounds almost mutant-like. As for Langhi, he also has over twenty pounds on Chandler. Darius Miles may be sub-200, but he's also 3 inches shorter. I'm surprised by Jermaine O'neal's weight, too. Langhi looks thinner to me than 220. I have serious doubts about Chandler being able to play the 3 full-time and he needs to beef up to play the 4. Unless he's got Garnett type athletic ability (which I have read he doesn't), he sounds like a tweener to me. ------------------ [This message has been edited by triplebogey (edited April 15, 2001).] [This message has been edited by triplebogey (edited April 15, 2001).]
Yikes! Stevie Franchise is, what, 6'3 193???!!! I can't even imagine this guy. ------------------ Chris Webber at the July 28, 2001 3:00 PM news conference when he announces where he will go: "It seemed tough, but with guidance from Steve Francis, I learned my true destiny. That destiny is to play for the Houston Rockets, to bring them back to championship glory. One big man is all they need, and I believe I can fill that void. Thanks to the loyal fans in Sacramento, but Houston, Texas is where I belong."

nbadraft.net has him listed at 225lbs http://nbadraft.net/profiles/highschool/tysonchandler.htm i doubt he will be around when we pick, so it's someone else's problem. ------------------
Well...that's good to know. At least there are different listings and Chandler might actually weigh more than Steve Francis. ------------------
