You might want to check the math again. The Rockets are currently 32-40. If they win out, then they'll be 42-40 which is above .500.

All of the guys in front of us for the last spot are .500 or worse:

    Sacto 36-36
    Utah 34-37
    Nola/OKC 33-37

If each of them finish the season .500 or worse, then we'll end up passing them. It'll be very hard, but it's not quite at the, "we need to win every single game, and they have lose every single game" stage yet.

I don't like the attitude of wanting the team to lose so we can get a higher draft because it's damn near impossible to make the playoff.

All I want is the Rockets to play hard and if they win I'm happy as hell, if they don't and we ended up not making the playoff and not ended up with a high pick, so be it.

If the team keep playing well and Yao keep playing in this level, it's only gonna be good for the chemistry and bode well for the future. Besides, we have the two guys (the inside/outside combo) we need already.

Another thing is when quality free agents are choosing their options in the off season, they are going to judge whether Rockets is the team that's worth joining. If we play like schit rest of the way, I honestly think our prospect of attracting free agents will be hurt badly.

We really died in the 4th quarter. That's what we need T-Mac for. If we're making this run to the playoffs, then there's no way we can just stop playing in the 4th quarter like we did. T-Mac would have closed that game out, no matter how bad a shooting night he had or whether his back hurt to the point where he could barely play. Yao and the gang did a hell of a job tonight, let's hope they keep it up and we make the playoffs.

Come on Rockets, make that run! T-Mac, rest that back up, this city and all of it's fans are going to need it next season, or, if we make the playoffs this season... :p

Well, I don't think to lose is a wise choice. Don't you think healthy Yao and T-Mac, and these growing up role players will be a nightmare for the other teams the next season?
What they want now, is just some experience, some confidence and some respects. So doing their best to win every game is the right way, the way to the champion.

screw tanking.. I didn't pay all this money for League Pass only to watch them try for the lottery. I feel I haven't got my money's worth this year but if I can get a smidgen of hope that they might be a good team next year then I might get LP again next season. If they just lose game after game to close out the season I am definitely gonna think twice before I purchase it again.

But, if I can take anything out of this season, it's watching Yao come into his own the last few weeks. He just seems unstoppable. Even in the second game with Phoenix after the blowout.. he seemed to figure it out and was very productive. Yao is definitely benefitting from being a student of the game and learning from his mistakes. This alone gives me hope for next year if Tmac can just stay healthy. I also liked the fact that it gave the rest of the players more playing time to gel with each other (and to play without Tmac) It also let them get used to JVG's system.
