I think there is a cultural difference here. People in China proudly call themselves "Yellow People" direct translation (literal) translation.

Everyone's new at one point. I find it a little weird that some people, who are not that old themselves, are having this "veteran poster" pride thing going on

Nonsense. It isn't about being a rookie. There are some rookies here who actually post meaningful stuff. They too are irritated by useless threads like this. Threads like this are just terrible and it's really starting to get annoying.

In my line of work, i've seen some asian people who can dunk and some who can't. Just because you're weak doesn't mean you should levy your weakness on people of the same race as you.

Yea, the English is bad, and some of the things don't make sense. But it's his true feelings. Let him voice.

I just checked out the other Yao Ming slobberfest board. Ironically, posters there have a better grasp of the english language. Haha.

Actually, I was under the impression that Yao Ming "can" shoot 3 pointers, but just have not taken enough of them in the NBA games to be noteworthy. But then again, I may be wrong.

It's really amazing to see Yao can make so many people around the world to HATE him for no reason.

And please go back to enjoy watching Liu Yudong/Hu Weidong/Wang Zhizhi playing basketball and dont come back again.

Wait a minute. Is Wang Zhizhi playing basketball for any teams now?

Very false. Although, it's been true that people from West African descent have faster than normal twitching muscles (ie. explosive power), these genetic differences are not noticable until individuals reach the upper echelons of their genetic potential.

In other words, it's almost always true that an individual's daily diet and exercise routine designate and his physical limits rather than his genetic potential.

I'm so frustrated with these incomprehensible new posters that I find myself agreeing with mleahy999 more and more.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to re-institute the contribution fee for new members? Certainly, poster quality would increase as passing fans and YOF would have to think twice before dropping 10 bucks to post in unintelligible broken english.

Don't think that's going to happen. According to Clutch, this "opening of the floodgates" is a tactic to try and get this board to be self-sustaining financially with the Google ads. So I guess that with more traffic and members, the revenue from the Google ads will eventually overtake the cost of bandwidth.

We'll just have to ride out the initial wave until the new posters realize what kinds of threads are worth starting.
