All these "lets trade t-mac" posts make me sick. It's freakin ridiculous. People get hurt. Give him a chance to rest his back in the offseason and try to make a comeback, instead of giving up on him. It's not a Grant Hill situation or anything. He was healthy last year and did some good things for this team. Who says he cant rehab and do it again?
Exactly. His back spasms were never this bad, and even though it may be a chronic problem, it didn't stop him from leading the lead in scoring twice in a row and leading a team with pretty much *no* talent to the playoffs 3 out of 4 seasons. He needs to lose the muscle weight he put on this offseason so he gets that spring back in his step and the load his back carries is lightened. That way, whenever he gets spasms, it won't be NEARLY this bad. Oh, and I wasn't even talking about his tenure with the Rockets...that was amazing last season.
Definition: Newbie Ego- The condition whereby a new poster will start a thread with a shallow, unsubstantial message that could have been added to any number of other threads that have already beaten the subject to death.
Hahaha It's like those threads that focus on one thing only. This thread focuses on T-Mac's popularity on this board.
No one knows how Tracy's back will be for the rest of his career, but I can guarantee you that he will win multiple championships in the future if we were to trade him. Lance Armstrong was dumped by his team when he was on chemo.... he definitely got the last word. On a Rockets team that has only 2 players that were drafted here, I want to keep McGrady no matter what. I don't like the quantity of roster changes that have been occuring.
m_cable speaks the truth Rooks shouldnt be allowed to start new threads. rooks should like wait a month before they are allowed to make their own threads.
That's not true. Rookies with substantial info like oiley pierre or whatever his name is should definitely be allowed to start threads.
There is something going on here, hell even ShadyMcGrady is legitamately trumping up his two month tenure here (amazing post count btw) with good reason. This isn't like when Yao was drafted and Chinese people came here in numbers - they were quick on the uptake and brought information. What we have now is mostly gnats (and docgundy who shows promise but just creeps me out) and the question is why? We're a lottery team with an uncertain future. I'm a huge Yao fan and said before the season started that T-Mac might be the best player in the NBA but... Is this the result of the 610 fracas? Is it the giddiness of nerds about Morey? Has Clutch pissed someone off we don't know about? I'm usually very sympathetic to newbies, but now I'm starting to see why so many old-timers left here and why so few bother to occasionally post. Re: T-Mac what most fans can't grasp is that when he said he was healthy this year "and never felt better" he was inefficient. He probably wasn't healthy, but when management doesn't get honesty it becomes suspicious. His back problem isn't apparently fixable and you've got an enormous variable hanging over the franchise. Enter Morey with no illusions.
Hey lol what do you mean by that? I'm like 5 guys or more. I get a pass. All my roomates and sometimes my friends post randomly, I myself maybe have like 45 posts. They all find this whole bbs thing great! But I'm still one of the people who think T-Mac's back (while not fixable) will be fine next season with rest, rehab, and losing all that weight he put on. I mean, it never stopped him before the crazy offseason workout he had. Oh yeah, if I ever post anything like super anti-Rockets, that's not me, or my like 6 friends, that's this one Dallas fan-friend I have...
The worst part about his back injury is the complete unpredictability of it. You just never know when he's going to miss games, and it seems like every flareup keeps him out longer than the last. People point out that it's never been this bad before, but for all we know it could just keep getting worse. Not only that, but the injury definately affects his agressiveness in terms of going to the hoop. He shied away from contact last year (not in the playoffs) when he was pretty healthy.
a healthy T-mac can do a lot of things and contribution. but now he is not so healthy. this season is almost over, it is better that T-mac can have a rest. we are waiting for the next season!
LOL, well your roomates and your friends do you credit sir. I can't say I've agreed with most of your posts, but that's no big deal. There's a level of respect here that if someone doesn't pick up on IMO they don't even care to really respect their own. But if you have only made 45 posts, I am the frikkin' pope.
I suppose concerning the onslaught of new posters, myself included, it could be considered a form of reverse bandwagon jumping; buying stock when it's at its lowest, supporting the team when there's little to support, then looking down smugly and ridiculing those darn "bandwagon fans" when the Rockets start rolling towards the playoffs next year. I've always enjoyed reading the ClutchFans BBS due to its lack of trolls, informed discussions, and its inside scoops; honestly, you guys make me wish I lived in Houston, if only so I could watch the games on cable rather than Chinese streaming TV. But with free registration comes great responsibility, and in an internet age where a rapid giant post count is like a codpiece, (both are used by people who don't have a whole lot behind them) you're bound to find worthless threads every so often. Most of the time they're buried under interesting and useful ideas, but those are hard to find in a 31-40 season. This board has seen far worse days, and it will see far better ones. Hopefully this gnat gets to stay around and see them.
