Jason Richardson

Discussion in 'NBA Draft' started by the OlajuWons, Apr 7, 2001.

  1. is who we need, we trade to New Jersey, who previously during the trade deadline were interested in Cato, they thought they could work with him, he could work with Cato. So they can have him, and we throw in our draft picks (whichever they are) and Williams. We get their draftpick, and take Jason Richardson, this guy is who we need along with our back court duo, and Hakeem and C Webb or Hakeem and Mo Taylor and ANtonio Davis.

I'm not as impressed with Richardson as most people are. He's sick athletically, and has a decent set jumper, but I don't think he handles the ball real well, and overall he just seems a little passive...whether that has to do with Izzo's system I don't know, but you would think a guy that got so much hype would be the clear-cut go to guy. As far as the Rockets are concerned, I think he'll proabably play the 2 guard at 6'6", and according to oeilpere the Rockets want some big guys at the 3 and 5.

P.S. This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.

  4. yeah I was thinking just let Francis and MObley and NOrris handle the ball, just let him be the guy who gets rebounds and plays great defense and makes the open jumper, Shandon cant...

that is all, he runs cirlces around Anderson, sorry to say

Actually, I was thinking something along those lines. If New Jersey has interest in Cato (please, God, let it be true) I think the two teams (NJ, Rox) might have to hold off until July or Aug 1 (which is it? I forget) to get around our BYC issues. Then deal Cato and either Walt or Los or picks (or even sign-and-trade Shandon, if he'll go for it: NJ needs a 2 badly [pipe dream, I know]) for Van Horn. But not to keep him. Van Horn for, say, Shareef, or Brand, or Chicago's #1 pick.

I have hoped that Cato's absolute lack of enthusiasm and playing time is because he and the team know he's gonna go somewhere in the off-season.
