Remember how we supposedly attempted to send Cato (Iowa State coach-player connection), Walt, Los, and this year's #1 picks to Chicago for Elton Brand? Could Chicago have had some interest in such a deal? Or something similar? Maybe their high draft pick? God knows the Bulls need bodies and professional players, etc. But maybe the Jerrys said "let's see how many picks you guys have in this deep draft and who actually declares for the draft before we talk deals." The main prizes for the draft might not be there. The Chinese Super-Center looks like he might be kept under wraps for another year or two. Jason Williams keeps saying he won't declare this year. Would Chicago make a deal? I thought Doc Rocket strongly hinted that the Rockets' main goals, however star-cast, included Eddie Griffin in the draft (talk about filling our needs at the 3/4!) and possibly signing Marc Jackson. I know, I know, difficult at best, but Oeilpere indicated in a recent thread (his most recent; March 29th, I believe?) that the player the Rockets would seek in the draft would be long and athletic and strong. Sounds like Eddie Griffin. Do we have any hope? Or would Chicago just draft the guy for themselves? ------------------ [This message has been edited by ROXTXIA (edited April 06, 2001).]
as bad as chicago is... i could totally see them holding onto that pick and taking griffin. everyone loves his upside physically, even if he's questionable mentally. ------------------ *You're going to need a bigger boat.*
