Moulds would be a huge addition. I haven't heard much about it locally but if Philly was a frontrunner and they are reporting that he's coming here then that means they may be out of the race. I'd actually give him the extra money if that's what it takes to get him here. We aren't capped out and we need our draft picks to focus on defense and the OL. Moulds and Bush and we're set everywhere on offense except the right side of the line.
I tend to agree with you there. If, and somehow, if Moulds is released, I'd shell out a bit more cash than we normally would to get him here. Then, with that extra fourth rounder (the one we would have used to trade for him), we can draft an extra lineman. Plus, we wouldn't have to spend a first day pick (probably no pick at all), giving us further means of upgrading the O-Line and Defense, which is what we really need at this point. If we add Moulds, we don't need to upgrade anything on offense except for the line, and we'll be competitive.
Moulds is an excellent signing if a pick is not involved (or at most a 6th--Buf will lose him anyway) and/or if the bonus guaranteed money is less than outragous (<6 mil). Key Johnson's Carolina deal is a good benchmark, 5 mil bonus as part of 4/19mil deal.
ON ESPN's front page it says that it's between us and the Eagles and a trade could happen as early as today.
Regardless of +/-'s for each player, they are fairly comparable in age/productivity/role. Both former #1s on the downside of their careers but whom can bring a lot as #2's Wrs. I agree Moulds is probably more right for the Texans (and Keyshawn a better fit for the Panthers IMO as well, Key is a great blocker) If the Texans get Moulds in a contracted amount for less than Key is getting (bonus or guaranteed money is the key part) and nothing more than a late day 2 pick (6ish) I like the move. For Buffalo, any pick is giving them a bone in this situation, absolutely no need for an early 4th to make this deal, otherwise just wait until he is cut.
If we draft Bush, two O-linemen, and a defensive player in the first round, I can tolerate losing a 4th for Moulds. However I would feel better about a 5th...for some reason Casserly does well in Round 4 (Wells, Davis, Earl, Mathis have all been keepers...mostly).
It looks like RealGM is somewhat comfirming this trade. Moulds has agreed to a deal with the Texans, the Bills just have to agree to a trade with the Texans. RealGM Football
I wish I was inside David Carr's head. There's an easy way to find out if he is the right QB for this team. If, upon hearing this signing and knowing we will likely get Reggie Bush, he is excited and ready to tear it up with our passing game, great. If he's a little (or a lot) scared now that there really isn't much of an excuse left...then he's already failed.
