They finally started putting some good episodes out! I was getting pissed. This episode, reminded me of last season and why i got addicted to this show. They better not put another dud next week.
ok, i was watching the Rockets game and missed some of this. Did the "other" tell Locke that he punched in the numbers after the clock ticked down? they were discussing it, but i flipped back in the middle of it. He said nothing happened, but i'm not sure what he meant.
"Gale" told Locke that he typed in the numbers, at which point the lights went out for ten seconds. He then proceeded to tell him that when the lights came back on, the doors went back up.
Gale's face seemed to light up with fascination at the mention of the numbers. Plus, he had them memorized awfully quickly, which leads to wonder if he's heard them before. The reveal of the map was unexpected and awesome. I'm guessing the giant question mark in the middle of the map is the answer to the entire series. If we could just figure out what "C.V." means, we might be able to interpret some of the writing around the map (which frequently mentions "the accident"). One of the phrases, I think, says "Possible C.V. II - hostile(?) since accident".
here is a link to next weeks trailer. There are two versions, the U.S. version and the Canadian one. The Canadian one certainly spices things up a bit. http://www.dharmasecrets.com/forum/index.php?topic=2333.0
So the guy who's claimed he's Henry Gale isn't. I'm wondering why he helped out Locke and didn't hurt him when he had the chance... Being a big poker player, the poker part between Jack and Sawyer was pretty cool... It was a good episode, but last weeks preview hyped it up to be a lot more then it was - I thought more stuff would happen...
Im thinking this guy is actually "jennifer", and Henry Gale was his lover. Gale was the alpha in the relationship, so when he died he took up the name.
Is it me or didn't Kate look extra hot in today's episode? If only this show was on HBO or Showtime... Kate, Claire (after baby's birth), Ana Lucia, and Sun... What an episode it would be...
I understand I'm assuming that if he and 'THE OTHERS' are in a different hatch then maybe they have the same numbers and are doing the same thing him acting simple was to see if Locke and them knew more than they did Rocket River
Awesome episode. Kate did look exceptionally hot. Hurley is eating a lot of those candy bars....I wonder if there is anything funky in that food?
Sawyer-"Why didn’t you ask for the guns??" Jack-"I'll get them when I need them.." JACK IS THE MAN!!! Great show this week.. I also think that Locke's dad is the one Sawyer was trying to kill..
Outstanding episode. I freaking KNEW that guy was an "Other." What's crazy is, if this translation of the neon drawing on the blast door is to be believed, here are some things we might have to look forward to in this season and seasons going forward: Gene therapy (which might tie in with all the babies they seem to want) Dramatic weather change (this would indicate a level of control greater than anything shown to this point) Industrial Equipment found somewhere (this could lead to even more modernization of the Lost members living area) Cerberus? (My guess is this is the "Monster" - Cerberus was a three headed dog hell spawn, if I remember correctly) A note for above, the "catastrophic malfunction of the cerberus system" could mean when Ecko doesn't get killed by it...except that happened after they had already found the hatch. Ikeep wanting to attribute stuff on the drawing to things that have happened so far to the Lost survivors, but a lot of the stuff happened after they discovered the hatch so it much be after the blacklight drawing was made. Who knows.
It almost always rains when 1) the Others are around and 2) something bad happens to the Losties. This definitely stood out to me, and I agree. Mr. Black Smoke Monster is a security system gone awry. (Run for your lives!)
Don't know if it was mentioned, but that was Sayid's former flame that Locke did the house inspection for. I like the Locke's dad - Sawyer theory
I'm getting tired of the flashbacks, though the final flashback was interesting. Amazing, nothing happened with Henry. Surprise! The preview for this episode looked pretty awesome, but it ended up pretty pointless. It's after episodes like tonight's that I wonder why I still watch. Oh, and if their explanation for the show ends up being that Hurley imagined it all, I'll likely hurt myself.
I think the flashbacks are the best part of the show, and always has been. You get to see the character in their normal circumstances. The stuff that goes on in the jungle and random strange occurances with no explanation what so ever does get old after a while.
GOOD episode. I've always liked Hurley's character. SPOILER I have to admit, when Dave was trying to convince Hurley that the entire island was a figment of his imagination, part of me wanted it to be true since it would finally give some reasoning behind much of the crazy **** that has gone on at the island...but there is no way they would end the show like that. Any ideas on what Ecko is building? My first guess was a church...but it will probably be something more functional for survival. I doubt it's a raft. It was kind of neat to get some background on where the numbers originated, although I have a feeling there is more to them than a crazy guy making them up...what happened to the Connect 4 nut that made him crazy? My bet is it had something to do with the numbers as well. You can already tell they are setting Locke up to do something stupid. First they let the Other get in his head, now with the hurt leg he is layed up and can't be much a part of the action going on...that is already bothering him, you can tell. I predict eventually Locke will be the means by which the captured Other escapes. Sayid was kind of out of character in his small part of this episode. Now he has confirmation that this guy is an Other, so in my mind that's a signal to go right back to the torture until he spills all the beans. Sure it will take a while, but Sayid has the nads. Instead, he almost loses it and kills the only source of real information the Losties have right now. Seems ****ty that Anna Lucia would be the one to have a level head in that situation. As for what was revealed by the Other...I'm trying to figure out what his "God" comment means. Could it be that somehow the island really is some big experiment that doesn't really exist in the real world for other people to see? Could it all be some electronic representation...a virtual reality that is really, really effective? I doubt it, but it had me wondering. Also, the Other seemed to confirm that there is some "Him" or "He" that is at the top of this whole thing...and he is very much to be feared. Probably be at least another season or two before we even SEE that guy. But I look forward to it. Great episode. END SPOILER
