White would be an interesting possibility for the Rockets. He's got good size and he's versital enough to play both forward spots.

CHARLOTTE – Charlotte freshman Rodney White is expected to announce that he will be leaving school to play in the NBA next season.

Charlotte has scheduled a 4:30 p.m. ET news conference for today, in which the 6-foot-10 freshman will discuss his basketball future.

White, an Associated Press honorable mention all-America and ESPN.com National Freshman of the Year, led the nation's freshmen with an 18.7 scoring average.

He led the 49ers to the NCAA Tournament second round and the Conference USA Tournament title. He became the first freshman in league history to win C-USA Tournament MVP honors. A first team all-Conference USA choice, White was also named the Conference USA Freshman of the Year.

Charlotte athletic director Judy Rose and men's basketball coach Bobby Lutz are scheduled to participate.
