which guy would you draft if they were both there when we picked. i'd go with murphy although i have never seen him play really well in big games.

Battier fits the need, but I am impressed by Murphy merely b/c I heard reporters describe him as the "guy that refs have the toughest time calling" merely b/c he's so physical. That's very, very impressive.

It would be a tough choice, but I would go with Troy Murphy, because he looks strong in the post,he is someone who can replace Mo if he decides to leave for more money, even if Taylor resigns with us,Murphy can complement him with his good post play, unlike KT who is talented but is too short for the 4 spot.I think both Murphy and Battier will be gone by the time we get to our pick.I would then draft a small forward with the pick from the Bucks like Morris if he is still on the board. Can someone tell me a bit about Rodney White from Charlotte, who is 6' 9'' and is projected to be the 1st round pick for the Rockets by NBA draft net. He sounds a bit like Mo Taylor to me,except that he can shoot the 3 as well.

Troy plays no d at all... Battier is the best defensive player in the nation for the 3rd year in a row... Tough choice...

How many ND games have you seen this year as opposed to Duke games?

Murphy is a mystery. Sometimes I think he is just too slow for the NBA. I always think of Pat Garrity. He was great at Notre Dame. He's average in the NBA. Garrity played big in college, and now is a jumpshooter. I think Murphy is a better inside player than Garrity was, but I think they are similar.

Is there any question that Battier is the best defender in the nation? The few games I have seen of Murphy, he gets tossed around in the paint... Thus, giving up easy baskets...

Murphy can't touch Battier's jock on perimeter and full court D either...

The only aspect of Murphy's game that is better is his inside play on offense...

I'm not too high on either player, especially Murphy.

Murphy just reminds me of a smaller, and slightly quicker Jason Collier.Nothing to be excited about.

Interesting thing about Murphy, I think he can play the 5 in the NBA. He reminds me a lot of LaFrentz. Both are about the same size, LaFrentz is a better athlete while Murphy seems to have a little nastiness to his game and likes to play physical.

Nastiness....precisely. Granted, Murphy is not an incredible shot blocker, but he gets pretty physical defensively, and is big enough to handle the banging. But then he has that nice three point shot.

I would still pick Battier, given my choice, but Murphy would not be a bad pick.

Hey, I think this is post 2000. Yippee.

Murphy actually sounds like a guy the Rockets would go for. But he's probably a lottery pick, right? Considering how Rudy uses Kenny T, I think he'd love a true PF with an inside game who can shoot the 3.

I would not pick either. However if I had to pick one I guess I would go with Murphy. Battier is at his athletic peak and probably will be a decent NBA player but my main dislike of him comes from that hair of his. I mean what's up with his hair anyways. I personally do not think I could stand five year of looking at it. Murphy is mystery to me also. The one thing that worries me about him is that he is playing something like 35 or so games in college and he has tired legs. How will he hold up in th NBA? On the flip side of things he reminds me of a poor mans Karl Malone, very poor. He has a post up game but not nearly as good as his. His shooting however is deadly. The way he sets for a jump shot is very Malone like. However Murphy's range greatly exceeds Malones.
