Antonis Fotsis: He is only 19 years old but he managed to play regularly in Panathinaikos for the last three years and this is quite an achievement. At 6-8 Fotsis can play from SG to PF although he is best suited for SF. Last year he was a major factor why Panathinaikos won the Euroleague. Coming off the bench he scored in double digits against Maccabi Tel Aviv and Efes Pilsen. The best thing about Antonis is that he is a mature young player and he will play in the NBA in the next years. Rumors say that teams in NBA are willing to draft him in the 2001 draft. Great prospect , can shoot the 3pointer and penetrate with the same ease. ------------------------------------------ Possible second round pick or possibly even with Milwaukee's first rounder. ------------------ I'm worse at what I do best And for this gift I feel blessed [This message has been edited by Summer Song Giver (edited February 19, 2001).]
SSG - Should we be a little leary? I recall that Efes Pilsen is who Turksan played for when the Rocks drafted him and he had a reputation as a Barkley type rebounder. Agree on maybe second round. Right now the Bucks' picks is hovering around 21 - may be too high for a long-shot in deep draft. I like the "Euro" players. Especially Songaila (who's at Wake Forest). ------------------ GATER [This message has been edited by GATER (edited February 20, 2001).]
A lot of these European players are truly gifted scorers and good offensive players in general...but the main concern has always been a lack of toughness and no defensive skills. That's what they keep saying about the Kings' Turkoglu, and it's always been the case with Toni Kukoc. If Fotsis falls into this category (which from what I hear, he does) then I think the Rockets would be better suited to draft a Morris or Battier or Jefferson, all of which can at least be a presence on the defensive end of the floor. ------------------ P.S. This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.
