Yao should have gone up with every bit of strength to try to block the shot. Even if he couldn't block the shot, he should have fouled hard enough to prevent a basket.
By foul hard I only mean interfere enough with the shot so it doesn't go down. Yao could easily just go for the block instead of holding his hands straight up and probably keep it from going in... besides, I can't imagine any foul by Yao being interpreted as "flagrant".
Why leave the decision to Referees Yao? That's the question you need to ask yourself. We lost, as we should, for better.
It's true. If this had been a meaningful game I would be pretty upset right now. But it wasn't and it was still probably a good painful lesson for Yao.
i bet also that as his english improves he will feel much more confident talking and yelling at the bone head refs.
Yao Ming did not foul LBJ.....and they did not bump their bodies. You people always said the Chinese websites made up stories. But sina.com is at least 1 day earlier than Jonathan Feigen's article. Here is what I posted yesterday. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=2254092&postcount=128
JVG should have just stuck cookie monster in instead of Yao.. I think queen James would have thought twice about coming into the paint.
Yeah I saw him play live and I think he was as good or better. It seems like he just played with more passion than. I cant believe you can be that gifted and not secure a starting spot in the NBA. Disappointing
Looks like Swift has more passion in his college team than in his current team. I guess it's about pride for college basketball, while in pro it's just a job.
That last foul on Yao was clearly BS as so many fouls called against Yao and those foul not called for Yao while being murdered inside. Yao should have never just stand up straight and put his hand up, because I have yet to see that the ref don't call a foul on Yao when he put his hand up and guys running straight into him. Either knock James down or let him go for the two and get out of the way. In time Yao will learn to be decisive in these situations.
I recorded the game and watched it over and over again. The video doesn't lie. They bumped bodies in mid air. Whether or not that is a foul on Yao or Lebron that is up for debate, but it happened.
Awesome. now yao is complaining about possible legit fouls!! I love it. If he starts sporting a gold necklace next season and starts pimping his jersey, I might not recover
Get out of the way? Turn around and run away. It's easy said than done. Split seconds, the effort was to stop Cavs on that play. There is no such thing one can turn off effort in split seconds. But the game wasnt just decided by just that call. Overall Cavs had more good role players than us. We did good yesterday. Too bad we lost.
Exactly. I love Yao, and I am glad he is speaking out, but that was clearly a foul. Maybe it shouldn't be called on the home team's best player with the game on the line, but that is a different story. Yao clearly left his feet. I don't know what some of the homers are smoking over here, but it must be mighty good stuff.
You would never have seen Hakeem just stand there with his hands up. Block that ****, send a message.
