The guy is an extremely hard worker and he's got the type of attitude where he won't settle to be second best.

I think Stevie let all this BE A PASS 1st Guy kill his game

BTW - Why is Parker not considered a Shoot 1st guy
his assists are not all world and he shoots an aweful lot

Arenas at least is not letting other folx taylor his game for him
I think players should work on other skills and get messed up when they
try to do things beyond them or they not comfortable with

Gilbert Arenas is fantastic and he gets better every single year. It's funny we used to call him Francis Lite, because Francis has never been as good as Gilbert Arenas is now. (and I still think Francis is a fantastic player. Don't get mad, Rocket River! :D )

    Because
    1. Parker's big man does not need help developing his inside game
    2. Parker makes better decisions, and doesn't turn the ball over that much
    3. Parker is a master of finishing in the paint, thereby has a much higher fg%

I think the knock on Francis is not so much about "shoot first" as about his poor decision making. Question: Do you want a good passing PG or a good passing PG who is also a good scorer? I'd take the latter every day. BTW, Nash is a good scorer too. Is he a "shoot first" PG?

Michale Redd could be in the same league.

I am a big Gilbert Arenas fan. It's players like him that give the NBA a good name. He is one of the hardest workers ever. Some have already touched on his dedication. He has taken his game to levels nobody predicted.

pgabriel, maybe I'm not understanding, but how can you say Arenas isn't as complete a player as SF or Starbury? He is so much better than either of them it's a joke. Exactly how are those two better playmakers? Looking forward to your reply.

Arenas' teammates have grumbled a bit about him being a ballhog, no doubt. One knock on him is he doesn't seem to elevate the play of his teammates. But he's only 24, it's clear he's still developing his game and I think he will improve in this area as he matures. Maybe not this year, but don't be surprised if he doesn't win an MVP or two. IMO, Arenas is more likely to win an MVP than Tracy.

arenas is a great scorer but he doesn't set up his teamates. that's fine because as I said earlier, he is scoring so well he doesn't need to. but the wizards get by on a lot of jumpshooting. arenas isn't making easy shots for those guys.

The Wizards team isn't put together very well. They miss Larry Hughes' slashing and athleticism and they don't even have a semi-reliable inside scorer. I'd like to see what Arenas would do if they had a decent inside player. In my book, Antawn Jamison is not an inside player.

I thought I remembered a thread on this guy. Arenas has become one of my favorite non-Rockets along with Amare. Someone offered TMac and Head for Butler and Arenas? I would do that deal in a New York minute.

I'm a fan of GA... I dunno if I'm remembering this correctly, but he was supposed to be a first rounder, but started to get a little big head when he was done at Az, and he got kinda pushed back in the draft. He plays witha chip on his shoulder though, I'd take him on my team.

I remember reading an ESPN article that stated what kind of fire he played with. Was a little stand-offish, though...and weird: once took a shower after the game with all his clothes still on because they had lost. This was in his GSW days, so...I don't know if he's "matured" or not...but his game speaks volumes about how hard of a worker he is.
