While everyone is screaming this is the ULTIMATE in Team play
    I'd like to point out
    that on any given night
they have a Talent Advantage at - at least 2 positions a night

    Except maybe - miami

They are imo rarely at a disadvantage at any positions

    this is PURE Talent
their 1-5 is the best in the league

My conclusion is two super stars are not enough. Miami's supporting cast is way way better than us, but it is still not enough. They need a third scorer.

That's why I feel it is so ridiculous that some of our fans suggest Mike James has no room in our team because he wants to score.

Detroit may be loaded with talent but they have no "superstars." They do, however, have "stars" at every position and it is true that they are not lacking in star power at any position.

i jumped off the detroit bandwagon when they couldn't match the 97-98 bulls record of 82-0.

    Most definately
    However

On any given night. . they have an advantage at two positions
Let's match them against the rockets
    Chauncy >> Alston
    Rip >> Wesley/Bogans/Head/antyhing we got
Tayshawn << Healthy T-mac [But Tayshawn's D cuts into that advantage]
    'Sheed >> Howard/Swift
big Ben << Yao [unless the refs allow him to muscle yao alo]

Well, let's see, they average the second most assists despite having only the 14th best scoring average in the NBA, their top scorer averages only 20 ppg, they have four guys averaging at least 14 ppg, their team leader has never averaged double figure scoring in his career, and they have the best defense in the league. How

Great team success + average offensive numbers + great team defense...I'd say that's the definition of great team play

There's a reason why the Hawks, Blazers, and Bobcats are the worst teams in the league. There's a reason the Rockets are 2-785 without McGrady. There's a reason the Warriors haven't made the playoffs since the Clinton administration...no talent!

The Knicks are the exact opposite...plenty of talent and NO teamwork. It takes a perfect mix of the two to achieve ultimate success...

detroit have also been lucky, having no injuries at all to their starters this year. I wonder, with their weak bench, how they would go with a star missing.

Detroit has a good blend of talent and good teammates... best starting 5 in the league, but a healthy San Antonio is a deeper team IMO and should carry the Spurs to a repeat this year if TimmyD and Ginobili can get enough rest before the playoffs start.

I would consider the wallaces superstars. One is arguably the third best power foward in the league full of talented power fowards, and the other is the best defender in the league.

IMHO Chauncy is more of a superstar than the Wallaces are. Sheed maybe could have been viewed as one a few years ago... and Ben's offense is worthy of a superstar title (although it has improved)

woops, guess I can't edit... I meant to say the Ben's office is NOT worthy of a superstar title

^ true, he was praised recently for getting like 18 rebounds in one game but only a few points. Then Yao gets 20/20 a couple days later and it didn't make any headlines. Oh well good times ahead though!

    1) You don't know that it's not enough yet

    2) It is enough if you have the BEST star in the league

Actually, Miami's supporting cast is enough. They can rotate almost any player they want and still have a slight advantage. Same thing happened to the Lakers the last year Shaq was there. The only reason they didn't win it all was a lack of chemistry.

its a combination of talent, team work and luck, luck because unlike some other team that we know, they havnt had many injuries.

You guys can keep saying it, but injuries aren't all about luck. Not that Houston would know anything about it... but some guys are prone to injuries and some aren't. The trainers and medical staff also have something to do with it. Not having to carry the entire load of a team is a factor too (don't have to overextend yourself constantly).

Luck is a part of it, but it ain't the whole thing.

They have defensive talents , nearly no weak point at D
Offense, Chauncey Rip Rasheed, Dice at bench, enough
    I like this team
