Although you might have heard of this dude from Olympic articles, he's decided he wants to enter the NBA draft either this yeard or next. Who am I talking about? Yao Ming of China. Dude has great motivation and is an outstanding shot blocker, is a very good 3 pt shooter, great passer, can run the floor very well- AND HE'S 7"5!!!!!!!!.the only problem is that although he's quick for his height, he might need time to get used to the nba tempo although he is a quick learner. Also he might need to biuld up a little bit of muscle. Also, since he's in CHina, there may be a problem in getting him oiver here.China has a rule that players must be at least 22 years of age to be drafted. Yao must get clearance from the Mayor of Shanghai, and his Chinese Team, the Shanghai Sharks. A deal may need to be made with Yao's team to allow him to play in the NBA. But nevertheless, this guy sounds to me like a 7'5 Tony Kukoc- how sweet would that be for the team ho snatches him in the draft?

    Of course-
A similar description of a player named Shawn Bradley led to the 76ers taking him with their first roudn pick a few years back (i forget which pick, no less than 3 though). Anyway, youve seen what happened there.

No you're mixing up 92 and 93. 92 was Shaq(1) - Zo (2). 1993 was CWebb (1), Bradley (2), Penny (3). Still a terrible mistake, but not as bad as Bradley over Zo.

If I remember correctly his rights are owned by Dallas.

Personally other than an obscure facinating curiousity, IMHO, his entry will likely be a media hype, then a disappointing first year bust when he doesn't live up to the expectaions. Eventually he will settle in to a comfort role player. Albeit a very tall one.

Wang Zhi Zhi is the player who was drafted by Dallas. They own his rights. Yao Ming has not yet been drafted and therefore, belongs to no one.
