I'm curious as to the most famous people that you've ever seen at a restaurant or randomly at any place. This thread is inspired by the fact that I was out for my birthday and just saw Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban at dinner.. (I eat well for someone with no job) And there are no pictures.. sadly.. now it's time to go out again
Saw Joe Montana at a bar in LAX. Not really a famous person, but saw the apprentice winner, Kelly I think, at El Tiempo two weeks or so ago
it was at a place called Sambuca in Nashville... I guess she was in town to see Keith Urban (the country singer that I think she is dating.. or engaged?.. not sure).. but they said she has been there before.. I believe they also have one in Houston
Sheryl Swoopes at Galleria Cheesecake Factory Eddie Johnson at PF Changs in Phoenix while on vacation
My Freshman year of high school, our varsity team (Magnolia) was playing Friendswood (I believe). Moses Malone had a son on their team. Anyways, it was school appreciation day or something, so our Freshman team wore our jerseys to the game. After the game, I went walking back to the fieldhouse to turn in my jersey. I walked past some kid suited up for Friendswood, and he was talking to a HUGE black guy. I look up, lo and behold, it's Moses Malone. It's too bad he was talking to his son, or else I could have talked to him or got an autograph or something.
When I was waiting tables in NYC I had a few famous regulars. I waited on Steven Berkoff (playwright/actor, main bad guy in Beverly Hills Cop), Frank Langella, Al Goldstein (publisher of Screw magazine), B.D. Wong (M. Butterfly, Law and Order), Justine Bateman and the woman that played Dylan's girlfriend that got killed on 90210. She was beautiful but she was a nasty customer and a lousy tipper. Celebrities I've seen at restaurants: Sam Cassell, Rudy T, Jim Boylen, Roger Daltrey and Jackie Mason. We walked out of the restaurant where Jackie Mason was and saw Iggy Pop getting out of a limo and walking into a hotel. Oh, and I used to see Billy Gibbons pretty much everywhere I went.
The rising star Buck Johnson at some breakfast place in the Richmond area the year he was a Rockets 1st round pick.
Herschel Walker at Luby's in Irving. It was only about an hour after one of their Thanksgiving Day games vs. the Redskins at Texas Stadium just down the street. He must have come straight fromthe game to meet his family. This was probably like...9 years ago. People were coming up asking for autographs right in the middle of his family's Thanksgiving Dinner. Some people actually left and came back with souvenirs for him to sign. They had a line forming near his table...it was disgraceful.
I served Sam Cassell some water at Gulf Greyhound Park. It was either right before or right after the Rockets traded him...can't remember which...
Rudy T at madras pavilion off kirby...right after he was named lakers head coach...i think he's a vegetarian.
Dusty Hill (ZZ Top) @ Avalon Pharmacy Diner Rudy T @ Nick's Place Former Governor Mark White @ Cyclone Anayas Otis Thorpe, Chris Dishman, Vernon Maxwell and Craig Jefferies @ Fat Tuesday's Carl Herrera @ Galleria (OK it is a mall) Carl Lewis @ Benningans (290 and Mangum) Mario Elie and Tracey Murray @ Benningans (59 and Kirby)
I saw Moochie Norris at a Best Buy @ Westheimer & Highway 6. He bought like 10 DVDs. He looked impacient as if he didn't want to be noticed. But sadly no one did except me. I just nodded at him, and he nodded back.
