Maybe it's just me, however it seems JVG either has lost confidence in Chuck or has no idea how to develope players during a season that is beyond repair at this point. I would love to see Chuck get a chance to prove himself, I am afraid it may be with another team?

Chuck really needs to hire a John Lucas type of coach for forwards and help him develop his overall game. Dribbling, passing and hitting a 10 foot shot would also all be good things to work on 8 hrs a day this summer.

If we make a trade for a PF, he's gone. If we draft a PF, he's gone. If we need a roster spot, he's gone. His position on the team is that fragile right now.

we only have the following players under contract for next season:

    yao-deke
    jho-stro
    tmac-bowen
    head
    rafer-sura

if we draft a big guy i would believe that stro is being traded for backcourt help. if we draft a guard i believe stro stays. either way, we have the same number of big men.

hayes will have to earn his spot again through summer league, straining camp, and preseason. i believe he will be back though.

I love the way Chuck plays. If it was up to me, he would be ahead of Stro and Deke on the depth chart. I would play him 15-20 mpg. He is the anti-stro. He plays with heart, he hustles, he is smart, and he can CATCH the damn ball.

his release is really weird, he needs to change that little flicker at the end of his shot

it's so funny when he shoots free throws oh my god! Me and my brother crack up every time. He seriously fakes out everyone with his release. And it's not like the players learn either. I remember the time where he got a lane violation on everyone, only to have them rush in the same way on his next attempt. Too bad he hit it because it'd be funny if he kept missing.

Guys come on, the guy is great for hustle plays and playing with IQ, but he's not NBA calibre yet. You can't put him out on the floor against guys like Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Pau Gasol, Shawn Marion, etc. especially when the game counts. If we really do tank, then expect to see him more. He has a lot to work on this summer with this game, but at least he has the good hands and IQ to have an NBA career.

I would trust Chucky with guarding the aforementioned players more than juwan.

Absolutely. He is our best defender at the 4 IMO. He knows how to use his size to his advantage and is quick and has good hands. He is also strong. I remember him doing well versus Brand.

LOL let me make it clear, I do not think Juwan should be guarding these guys either, but Juwan at least has the experience and range on his jumper. You might trust Chuck more, but he won't be able to handle it otherwise he'd be out there more. I would like to see him on the floor more, that's for sure.

He doesn't have a future, he isn't any good, or I should say he isn't good enough for this league.

Chuck Hayes is O.K. He has no offensive game. I cant remember the last time I saw him stroke a jumper. His defense is well positioned, but hes just to short.
    see David Wesley...

Instead of playing Ryan Bowen - I wonder if Chuck Hayes would be able to play the 3. I mean he hustle like Ryan Bowen and is okay on the defensive end. I wonder why JVG would play Bowen over Hayes. Makes no sense.

Hayes is probably alittle too slow to gaurd most 3 though.

The only reason why Chuck isn't playing big minutes already is because he is an offensive liability. He does most other things so well, but about the only thing he's good for on the offensive side of the court is to grab rebounds and put in garbage baskets. And we're seriously deprived of offense (this is the primary reason why Swift gets good playing time and Chuck doesn't). Swift has his problems, but at least he's got some decent offense - a midrange shot with good shooting form, and some nice post moves. And he can be an underrated defender at times - he generally does a much better job than Juwan at guarding good 4s like Elton Brand.

If Chuck could find some shooting form, he would be quite an asset. Some lateral quickness would be useful too -- then he could guard some 3s as well.

I think they are hiding him on the roster in order to keep him cheap for next year.
