Dear JVG, This Frahm guy, sheesh, I hope he gets some more minutes to recover from his first impressions. And Magic Lamp: come on JVG, show us what we've got. I'm not saying tank-- just try to win with our bench "talent" so we can see what these dudes can or can't do. Also, please free Chuck Hayes; any time you're tempted to insert RyBo, use Chuck instead, for goodness' sake. Please limit Yao's minutes and consider not playing him at all. The cherry atop the feces cake this season has been would be an Achilles' tear or foot fracture or... back injury for Yao. Let's live to fight next season.
I'm for everything but limiting Yao, maybe he doesn't need to play 40 mins a night, but this time right now is great for his psyche and emotional state, he is realizing he can score basically at will, and no one one on one is going to stop him. Not to mention that these games are coming against the top teams in the league. Other than that i'm for giving Lampe some serious minutes. I would shelves Howard for the rest of the season, let Swift and Lampe and Hayes man the 4 and backup 5 spot. I dont really care about Frahm he is just fodder. Give Head and Bogans all the minutes they can handle too. There is no point in playing Howard 40 mins a night when you could be evaluating talent and working towards improving the team next year.
1. what's up with all this rafer bashing? 2. if you count on spanoulis being our starting pg and being better than rafer, then, you know... if spanoulis doesn't want to be a bench player then he can forget about his nba dreams. however, i'm skeptical toward spanoulis being a rotation player for a contending nba team, either. it's not like he's a tony parker or manu ginobili. i hope he is just nearly as good as marko jaric or sarunas jasikevicius.
Let's not play the name game here. JJ will not be a very good pro. He'll be a career role/bench player. His size, athleticism, and defense will hurt him greatly in the pros. I advocate using the top pick on a power forward, and then drafting a guard with a good shot with the 2nd rounder.
I think Sheldon Williams will go higher than JJ but if both of them are available I would certainly go for Sheldon. He is a solid PF. JJ is a good shooter but doesn't bring much else.
JJ would be a nice 6th man though. Hes a reggie, kerr, rice type of shooter. He would lead the league in threes on the Rockets. I think JVG could make him a decent defender. JJ could contribute right away because of his stellar shooting. Other more athletic based players could take a while to develop.
