Let me say this the playoffs are all but gone. That being said the Rockets need to play hard and give it thier all because its still a big game. Finally the lottery has nothing but a bunch of nobodies so a lottery pick even though we will get one doesn't really help us. We need to add atleast 2 outside shooters WHO CAN HIT A SHOT and get rid of SWIFT and get a rebounding machine at that 4 spot. We do all those things and we will be right back in thne top 4 or 5 teams in the nba next season. With Tmac coming back healthy next season and with Yao taking his game to a whole new level we will definetly be back as a top team next season. Go Rockets!!!

    Rockets finally win.

    Rocks 101
    Hornets 95

I like jkckwong's stat line for Yao. He busts 40, grabs 15+ rebounds, and swats at least 4 shots. Yao has only one assist, however, as his "supporting cast" make 30% of their shots. Yao wills the team to victory.

Now I'm going to go drrink some more coffee.

Lose! Lose! Lose them all. we are one lost (and another teams one win) from moving from #11 to number #7.

Play to win, but play the younger guys and see what you have next year.

Just show following article posted on www.nba.com

    N.O. centers brace for Yao
Trio looks to follow Tuesday's showing
    Thursday, March 23, 2006
    By Benjamin Hochman
    Staff writer

OKLAHOMA CITY -- In this statistical-gorging sport of professional basketball, it's refreshing that Marc Jackson can score six points with two assists in nine fourth-quarter minutes -- and have no idea.

After the Hornets' 120-108 victory Tuesday against the Los Angeles Clippers, teammates stared at stat sheets while Jackson lounged at his locker playing a hand-held video game.

"I don't look at the numbers, I don't worry about (stats)," said Jackson, the team's backup center, who totaled 10 points in 15 minutes. "I just go out there and play hard."

That was precisely what the Hornets' needed against the Clippers' aggressive post players. And it was precisely what the Hornets (32-33) missed during much of their eight-game losing streak, snapped Tuesday against Los Angeles.

And tonight, the Hornets' centers -- starter P.J. Brown and reserves Jackson and Aaron Williams -- must stay active against the Houston Rockets (29-39) and their 7-foot-6 center, Yao Ming.

"It will be three against one," Hornets coach Byron Scott said. "All three of those guys will get a chance to play against him, no doubt about that. It's a challenge. Obviously P.J. starts on him; he has to get his work done early."

Against the Clippers, Brown played only 26 minutes -- he averages 32.7 -- while battling foul trouble and troubling shooting. He finished just 3-for-11 from the floor for six points, but had seven rebounds, including four on offense. Although Brown, 36, battled an ankle injury and was under the weather, he played intensely against trash-talking opponent Chris Kaman.

Williams had six points and five rebounds in 17 minutes. The three combined for nine offensive rebounds, and the Clippers had six as a team.

It was the first time in March that all three centers played well in a game. In recent games, for instance, Brown would get hot and the reserves would not contribute, or vice versa.

Jackson, specifically, had two 0-fers and a four-point game, followed with outputs of 16, 10 and 10 again Tuesday.

After the game, Scott said Jackson was "just being aggressive -- that's just Marc, that's his makeup. He's going to be tough and physical, hitting and bumping people around. He gives us a different look when he's in the game because he is the most physical player we have."

"It's great to have guys like Marc Jackson come in," Hornets guard Chris Paul said after the Clippers game. "It definitely keeps the offense going."

Now comes Yao. The Rockets are struggling like the Hornets, losers of six straight. And the Rockets are a conspicuous 0-13 against division opponents (the Hornets and playoff-bound Dallas, Memphis and San Antonio).

But Yao is still an imposing and tricky center to guard. He averages 22 points per game and 10.3 rebounds this season. In his most recent game, he scored 13 points and had 13 rebounds.

"The one thing we've always been able to do with Yao is really try to work him hard on the defensive end," Scott said. "We try to make him work as hard as possible to get the ball. Then when we get a rebound, we try to run him as much as possible, put him in pick-and-rolls as much as possible. We want him to be active. If we can tire him out, it's to our advantage."

"I love playing against Yao Ming," Jackson said. "I think the best defense against Yao is offense -- you have to run the floor and you've got to attack. You can't give him a break on the defensive end."

And the Hornets' centers can't give Yao a break by playing inconsistently.

Hornets Quintuple-team Yao. players shoot 2-38 from 3pt. Magic Lampe has 45 pts and 0 boards on uncontested dunks and layups. Tracy McGrady found rubbing Lampe on the bench with his eyes closed, overheard saying, "I wish my back didn't hurt...I wish my back didn't hurt..." Goes to quadruple overtime. Final score, 45-44, Rockets win.

Somehow, it seems Yao has slipped a bit last couple of games... maybe it is defense, but maybe he just runs out of gas now.

Yao passes the ball out whenever a double comes, then the guards miss 90% of the shots. Who is going to win the game.

Chris Kaman doesn't stand a chance against Yao. Why does PJ Brown think he does?

It seems to me that every time opponent makes a timeout, they come back with a little run. Rockets players can't react quick enough.
