oh, man!!! you have to get it to work! come to my office tomorrow and i'll show it to you! it's that funny!! i've been quoting from it all week...my wife is sick of it already, but my business partners and I were crying laughing just quoting from it today. EDIT: by the way...i'm a Christian...and as a Christian, I hate you all. thanks.
I'm agnostic or atheist or something in between and I don't lie, cheat, steal, commit adultery, kill, start wars, persecute anyone for their beliefs, deny the search for truth, discriminate against any minority, engage in pedophilia, profiteer, go into debt over material wants, have children I can't care for, or claim that my way is the right way...screw all you people, you can't marry my kids. * OK I do download music I don't pay for and that is stealing, but I pay my taxes and tip my waitress.
That poll stinks... God doesn't believe in atheists and National Atheist Day is right around the corner- April 1st
I think a popular misconcetion about Atheist is they lack a consistant morality because they do not have a religious moral center Atheist to an extent is seen as Amoral Rocket River
yeah, i think that's what this church did. the church i'm visiting is doing an sermon series on the person of Jesus leading into Easter...the pastor shared this with me this week, and I have a feeling he might use it leading in. if he does, i may have to get up and walk out so i'm not too much of a distraction. it absolutely kills me!
I'm surprised by the survey because it's not my experience at all. I've seen plenty of hate towards Christians, Muslims, blacks, Mexicans, gays, bunches of groups. But, I can't think of any persecution I've seen or felt toward atheists except the cringing of a 5-year old girl when I told her I didn't believe in God. In fact, I've met with more acceptance than is Biblically-warranted. I married a Christian girl (a no-no for her) and even got permission from her minister father. I go to church and say I'm an atheist and everyone wants to be my friend. I have to wonder who they've been polling because being a white male heterosexual atheist seems to me to be the least persecuted group you can be in. I get more hate for being French (and American, for that matter) than I do for being atheist.
whatever you do...don't tell the folks at church you're French. shhhhhhh. and i didn't tell you that, either.
I hate to say it, JV, but CometsWin is probably right! That, and Mrs. JV is a babe, no doubt, which doesn't hurt at all. Keep D&D Civil.
