Remember in past years around this time of the season, Clutch would fire up the highly entertaining Lottery countdown, complete with our boys' valiant efforts to tank as many games as possible?

Are we going to see that this year? Or are we perhaps waiting (as every true Rockets fan should ;) ) until we are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs?

11th worst record in the NBA right now! Come on! We need more ping pong balls!

    I still believe.

We can pull off the number 1 overall pick.

Im all about the lottery balls this season. The rockets have absolutely no chance in making the playoffs and without a healthy T-Mac, Sura, Barry and DW they would probably get swept.

we can make it all the way to the 7th spot, thats more than 5 times the ping pong balls than we would get now.

looking at the standings, if we win only 1 or two games there is a chance we slide all the way to the 5th pick in the draft.

We'd have to seriously not win many more games for that to happen. On the other hand, you can look at the schedule and not see them winning any more than 3 games. Of course, being 4 games ahead of Magic/Raptors, those teams would have to win 7 games the rest of the way for us to catch up, which seems like a stretch. But 7th spot does seems like a realistic possibility.

I don't think #1 pick is as important this year. But top 3 is still important.

Looking at who we play is realistic to think we go 2-12 the rest of the way. finish the season 31-51

Looking at the magic their last 10 they went 5-5 if they keep that up they win 7 games and finish 32-50.

I think stretching for the 5 is just that a stretch. I think we will comfortably land in the 7 spot, but at this point i'm just hoping to move up the lottery.

I know the 1st pick isn't as important as say next year when there was an Oden or Yao or Lebron.

But that being said there will be an all star coming out of this draft and we will have a good chance to get him. Brandon Roy or Lemarcus Aldridge would be the two choices i'd like to come out of the draft with. There is also the chance of trading the pick for an established player.

its the only thing we can hope for @ this point.

How do you figure? We face 7 playoff teams and 7 lottery teams. We're not going to have any schedule stretch as brutal as our last 6 games, 4 of which featured top 3 teams. JVG isn't the type to let off the gas, and Yao is playing like a monster. At absolute worst, I see us going 5-9. More likely 6-8.

you think way to highly of our team. we are something like 2-24 right now without tmac. there is no way we go 5-9 let alone 6-8.

we might win against the struggling hornets, and probably against the blazers. that's it. 1 or 2 more wins.

we can stay in a game but yao can't close out games, no big man does cause they can't create for themselves, there is no one to break someone off the dribble and hit a late game shot.

i love my rockets but i'm not delusional this team has serious scoring deficiencies, Head and Bogans are eventually going to tire from heave minutes since there is only Bowen and Frahm behind them.

There's no way we don't take at least one of the two we have coming up against the Sonics. They're awful right now. This board is ridiculously bipolar - and since we're at a lowpoint right now, you get this 2-win only mindset.

$10 to the tipjar if we don't get at least 4 more wins this year.

i guess you like the thought of seeing the rockets get abused and having the worse ball handling and passing backcourt possible.
