Depends on what type of places you like to frequent.....Copper Tank is a good place to go, lots of beer and big screen TV's. If you prefer a more mellow venue, try Maggie Mae's. ------------------ HOOP-T ------------------
Man, I'm glad somebody brought this up, for some odd reason I'm in Austin during the draft, and I am extremely unfamiliar with the territorry. But if anyone has planned a get together, let me know! -Turbo ------------------ -Turbo
It sure is great to find some ROCKETS fans in the Capitol City. I get sick of hearing about the Spurs. Are there enough of us to even have a draft party? I'm watchin' at home on the dish. My pecking order - Miles, DerMarr, Alexander (maybe trade for an estabished 4 doubles at 5 or 3 or 3 doubles at 4), Moiso, Miller. Add Croshere and DerMarr and the Rocks WILL be competitive! ------------------ GATER
Clutch, Freak, Kagy, DaDakota, any other Austinites, are ya interested? ------------------ "Go to hell Costas"-Dave Nelson after sweeping the ABSCAs on NewsRadio visit www.swirve.com
Clutch is not going to miss the Mother of all Chats!! ------------------ President of the Moochie Norris FAN CLUB
R95 -- yeah, I think I'm interested. There's also some places up north, like maybe Dave & Buster's, Showplace Lanes (Texas Sports Palace), or Damon's in Round Rock. North is better for me, but I'll go with the majority, if there is one. ------------------ Too-Rye-Aye!
Count me in, if there is a consensus pick for a place to go. I am more central but I could go north (not to Round Rock though!). ------------------
Count me in as a maybe guys. with my recent run in with the law, I may not want to drink and drive. Besides, I got plastered last night. But, have fun and let me know where just in case. =) ------------------ "Don't they get cable in Canada ?" Keith olbermann, after watching hakeem block terry catledge's shot 5 times.
Okay, let's do Showplace Lanes. Hopefully that's not too bad for everyone. It's right off I-35 at around the Rundberg exit. You can't miss it. It's a big bowling alley with a sports bar right next to it. If this isn't cool with anyone, just post another idea. ------------------ Too-Rye-Aye!
wait, is it actually in showplace or is it next to it ? if so, what is the name of the place ? ------------------ "Don't they get cable in Canada ?" Keith olbermann, after watching hakeem block terry catledge's shot 5 times.
How about somewhere Near North, if we can find anything? Actually, Showplace Lanes might not be that bad. There probably wouldn't be too much music so we could hear Mr. Stern announce who the Rockets are taking with the number one pick! Let me know. ------------------ "Go to hell Costas"-Dave Nelson after sweeping the ABSCAs on NewsRadio visit www.swirve.com
I don't think this is going to work. Showplace only has audio on one big screen, and it doesn't look like they're going to have the draft take center stage for the whole time. Since nobody else has come up with anything, I'm prepared to just blow it off and watch at home. If anyone wants to come up with some last minute plans to meet somewhere, I could be all for it. ------------------ Too-Rye-Aye!
I don't think I'll be able to make it anyway. However, I think that Showplace would be a good Austin Rockets HQ for next season. Or maybe someplace more central for us South Austinites! ------------------ "Go to hell Costas"-Dave Nelson after sweeping the ABSCAs on NewsRadio visit www.swirve.com
ok then, i guess this means i will stay at home. ------------------ "Don't they get cable in Canada ?" Keith olbermann, after watching hakeem block terry catledge's shot 5 times.
I'll be at Daemons in Round Rock with a couple of my buddies. On is a Laker fan, and the other a Sac fan...both life long. Will be having dinner with wife and kids to start...then we'll be moving to the bar...I'll have my draft card in hand! I'll probably be wearing my Rockets shoot around top and hat. Give me a holler if you make it out there! ------------------ In the end there will be no judges...only witnesses to my greatness.
HOOP-T- having a party like this at Maggie Mae's is great... as long as you have your penicillin ready. Probably the only place in TX where a barstool serves as a culture dish for STDs. Eeewwwww... ------------------ It takes a lot of brains to enjoy satire, humor and wit- but none to be offended by them.
