When it comes time for the Rockets to pick at #9, if Alexander is available, who here thinks the Rockets will take him. Not would you take him, but will the rockets take him. He clearly could be the most underrated player in the draft especially if he slips to #9 (like when boston drafted Pierce) and for that reason if he is available at #9 will be the best player available and the Rockets will take him. Now apart from making us all on BBS go OOHHH-NO and ****ting off Cuttino, he could be a very valuable trade comodity. So who is in desperate need for a shooting guard, who can score and has good potential??? In other words can we fill our needs for a glass eating hard nosed defender PF by drafting and then trading Alexander. Why? Alexander may be able to pull 15 ppg but we lose any defensive ability that Cuttino may possess, and we get an attitude that may end up putting Iverson to shame. Don't forget that Steve wants to pass to and play with Cuttino. Cuttino also gives us 15 PPG already, is seasoned and frankly a better overall player. If Les Alexander really wants Courtney Alexander, he would simply trade Mobes to move up(Magic,Hawks or Bulls) and get a second high (<10) number one pick. At five, six or seven we will be fighting off all but Martin, Swift, Mihm, and Pryzbilla. Want Courtney? Take him. Want a star "potential" project? Take Miles. Want a starting SF? DerMarr, Miller, etc... Want a PF? Take best available at #9 (Moiso but don't underestimate the Fizer drop!) ------------------
I think the rocks will trade the pick if Alexander is there most likely or draft him with the intention of shipping him out by the season if can't get it done on draft day. This has nothing to do with Cat since Alexander will be gone before Cat signs. Alexander is better than Mihm, Pryzbilla, Dermarr, Greek guy, Miller.
