If both miller and moiso were left at #9, who would we pick and why?

Moiso. Why??I am not to sold on miller,I think he will be a less athletic version of walt williams though I havent seen him much so it might be a mistake.

Both are risks but moiso has a higher celling(theres that word "potential")than miller and he is a PF which maybe a factor when signing mobley beacause of the minutes he'll get, when drafting a SF you are taking minutes away from cat.

If johnson is there then thats a whole different storie,I would take that risk.

Miller is a tall Bryce Drew.

Moiso is a tall Michael Dickerson.

I'd go big and take Moiso, unless there's some other trade in the works.

    Miller....without a doubt.

Miller's game is already light years ahead of Moiso's in terms of maturity and polish. He is a better shooter, better defender, better passer, better ball handler....he can play several positions. Moiso is not to that level yet.

True, Moiso is more athletic. But Miller can do so much more already.

I will choose Jerome Moiso over Mike Miller. Moiso is a good rebounder one thing the Rockets need. If the Rockets draft Jerome Moiso the starting lineup would be Cato at center, Moiso at power forward, Walt Williams at the small forward, Shandon Anderson at the 2 guard and Steve Francis at the point.

Miller gets a lot of balls to handle in his NCAA game, so his offensive worth MAY be inflated a bit. He is self-admittedly a slow player. He has great touch around rim, but his defense is suspect despite respectable showings in college. The faster pace, quicker reacting, Steal/Jab/Reach/Slap/Double/Hard Press/Etc... game of the NBA will show him up.

Moiso can bang and fly. he plays a bigger game than his body shows and has good presence in the half court. he is quick for his size. His defense is passable, especially around the net. He has less shooting skills than Miller, but his scoring percentage should translate well with the Rockets NBA game.

Moiso has the size & Athleticism to make a big difference right off of the shoot. Plus from watching him play he kind of has that Blue Collar feel out on the floor.

I feel Mike Miller has had the Green Light too long at Florida & would demand too much ball time for the other Rockets like Francis & Mobley (if Cat stays!).

If it's between these two guys the Rocks will take Moiso.... but I still think they might shock us all....

Miller, he would fit the Rockets system better. I feel Mike is a good team player, but my opinons are a little biased being a Florida fan.

I'm also a Florida fan, but I hope the Rockets pass on Miller. IMHO he wouldn't bring a lot more to the table than Walt. Williams and Miller are both players with good shooting touches and a decent dribble, but they also both lack speed and are below average man-to-man defenders. I also think that the Rockets main need is a defensive-minded PF (I just wish Donnell Harvey was a little taller and heavier [IMG] ).

I would love a player like Harvey for the Rockets. What are the chances of him growing more? He's only completed his freshman year, right? He could well have some more growing to do. Any speculation on that from you Gator fans or extreme draftniks?

Well, he is 19 years old, so there may be a small chance of him gaining another inch or 2, but it really isn't that common for people to continue growing taller past 17 or 18 (it happens, just not often). You can probably expect him to fill out a little more over the next couple of years, so he may be able to make up with in strength what he lacks in height.

He is already a scrapper and good defender; if he develops his 15' jump shot a little more (it's there, but it's a little ugly) and gets a few post moves down, he might make an excellent career back-up for some team (assuming that he doesn't grow any more in height).
