This should be the "Is Wesley really our SG of the future?" or "Is Head really our SG of the future?". Neither of them is.

Not much comparison between TP and Rafer. TP penetrates and finishes better than any PG in the NBA, including Nash. Rafer can penetrate but he can't hit the shot very well; he doesn't force teams to collapse on defense like TP. Neither is a good outside shooter, though TP has been hitting his mid-range jumper fairly well. If he develops a reliable 3 point shot, TP will officially be unstoppable. Right now, he is terrible beyond the arc whereas Rafer is just bad. The bottom line: TP is a terrific offensive player because of his quickness, penetration and finishing. Rafer's primary skill is getting the ball to others in scoring position. One is an All-Star; the other is not.

I don't know how Kobe got into the discussion. His 3 point % is in the 30s because he has to bail out the Lakers offense. He can't just sit back and shoot 3s only when he's open. Obviously Kobe is a better 3 point shooter than TP or Rafer can ever dream of being.

if this is so why does he do so much dribbling and finds it most difficult to pass to Yao? He is not a good playmaker, he has his mind set on his scoring more so than making his team better!!

LOL, Rafer Alston looks like a poor man's Francis more and more. What does he keep shooting for?

Terrible shooting and defense. Now he is becoming a turnover machine.

2-13 shooting and opponent's PG lit him up again! If he is your future PG, then Rox really doesn't have any future.

Rocket fans love to play the blame game. They love to think that every player needs to be perfect to be a Rocket. Funny.

or the rockets fans expect too much out of bunch of scrubs. u want a championship team, then bring in good players. we got a bunch of idiots who just send the ball in to yao 24/7 but cant hit a shot worth flip. yao can only score so many points.

Your observation about our scrubs is incorrect!! The big problem in our game is that we DON'T go through Yao enough. Most of our players just can't pass the ball into Yao Ming and Jvg doesn't teach them how to, or demand it of them.

Les should be thanking people who complain, because these people still care. Wait till nobody cares. ptsss.

Where were you guys when Alston did well after he came from his injury?

Not to mention T-Mac was actually playing and we were semi-healthy.

Now T-Mac is hurt and we don't have anyone who can actually hit a shot, how can Alston get his?

    Stop being so fickle.

Sweet job, michecon. Don't mention his 8 assists and 5 rebounds, they were just not important. You're just doing your job to make it look that much worse...

Hahah. Really? So what is it that I said that justifies your statement? Or you just felt like insulting me because Tony had a good game tonight? Bring your counter argument if you can.

LOL, I was just pointing out how far the perfection is, I haven't even touched defensive side. If you must, 8 ast, 5 reb, oh and 1 steal too. Nice job Alston.

This is sort of a bizarre thread. I do think Alston should be given some slack with all the injuries and it usually does take a pg a year or so to settle in - even with a stable rotation.

But there are a couple of things to consider for the anti-Rafer guys:

    1) He's probably the best pg Yao's played with and....

    2) If we do need to get a starting 2,4 and 1 next year we may as well mail in next season too, no matter how healthy T-Mac is or how much Yao improves.

Rafer has to get better, but a healthy team could make a dramatic
difference in his game. I think Rafer will be fine.

thats not saying much. Very few of his assists are assists to Yao !! It's almost getting to feel like Francis is back with us again but in disguise.
