Cleveland paper reports Tsakalidis' contract situation should keep the Cavaliers away during NBA draft.

That means one less stiff going ahead of us, and one more team likely to take a player we want.

I saw that too. I was really counting on them to take him so one of the others would fall to us, unfortunately. Of course, someone could be throwing out false information to keep people away, too.

There's a report out of Chicago that Mihm was way outplayed by Magliore. I wonder if that is disinformation, too.

Unfortunately, though, this one hurts us more than the Mihm rumour, if it's true.

Who do you think they'd take, instead?

They need a center the most, then a SF. Would they take Soumaila Samake, since Prysbilla and Mihm will probably be gone?

Or would they look for someone like Miller to help at SF? This hurts if its true.

The Cavs would be morons to take Samake in the lottery. They could-trade away the pick; or draft Mike Miller. I've also heard they may be a little interested in Moiso...

From what I've heard, the Hawks are going to pick DerMarr. Moiso still goes to the Rox in my mock.

Tsakalidis may not even be in the draft at all... read this from nbatalk.com

Another Greek inside a Trojan Horse

According to inside sources, NBAtalk is hearing that the Big Greek Iakovos Tsakalidis may have more than contract problems getting in the way of his dreams of playing in the NBA. Speculation is that Tsakalidis isn't even Greek, he's Russian, and that he changed his name and date of birth to play pro ball in Greece. These whispers say that he is actually 23 years old and too old for the draft. These accusations are still unconfirmed. NBAtalk has also learned that the NBA and teams are having a difficult time negotiating with Tsakalidis' Greek team. One minute they want a contract buyout, the second they don't want anything, the third they want him to stay in Greece.  Negotiations have been a source of frustration but with these new allegations (and they're not new for many foreign players) may make him ineligible for the draft.

Unfortunately, it looks as if one of those talented players will be taken if Tsakalidas can't enter the draft. But perhaps fortunately, the Rockets can't pick him. (remember what Aldridge said)

The lottery is way too early for Samake. I think the Cavs have their radar on DerMarr Johnson. They need a tall, athletic wing player that can shoot from the perimeter. They seem to like players with good outside shots (Langdon pick). Thats fine with me though b/c that would mean Moiso would then be the likely pick for the Rockets.

    NIKEstrad,

Hard to imagine Paxson as the GM.

Just a few short weeks to get to the bottom of his contract situation by draft day.

Now all of a sudden the Cavs are "cautiously optimistic" they can get 007 out of his European contract.
