valid point. in game adjustments are definitely not one of jvg's strongpoints. he's a master planner, yes, but below average "in game".

Fair enough, but the only adjustment that can be made to the way teams have been surrounding Yao in 2nd halves is to make outside shots. Every team in the league now nows to just blanket the paint and we're easy to beat.

Of course if no one can hit open jumper that yao created, rockets will lose all the way and Yao will keep on doing poorly on second half due to double tripple team on him.

Oh what a wicked web we weave when we attempt to deceive!

This whole thread hasn't been about Yao's stamina, it's been an attempt to
belittle our own Yao! There is a fine line between ignorance and stupidity and
I've pretty much figured you out. A true Rocket fan would not try and divide
the team as you have just attempted! Believe me there are plenty of people
on this board who can and will make you look foolish if you continue with these
kind of idiotic threads, my advice read and learn young skywalker!

It's just too true. Yao's wearing out 2 to 3 guys a night that are playing fewer minutes than he is and that are not being asked to carry their team.

It blows my mind how much Yao's game gets criticized here and nationally. And what a lot of people fail to recognize when comparing T-Mac's heroics with Yao's play is that perimeter players just don't get beaten up the way centers do.

Yao will learn to pace himself better as he enters him prime, but by then we'd better have a real team around him because right now expecting Yao to deliver wins by himself is completely unrealistic.

I agree. When Yao gets 36 there are three players on the opposing with 4 plus fouls. Take the Indiana game for example, there were three different players that had Yao on D and all of them had 4 plus fouls. WTF do people expect??

Bottom line - dont question Yao's stamina when no other player on the Rockets team has to work as hard to get 2 points.

i equate this to teams loading the box to stop the run cause david carr is the quarterback.

 That's a hell of a mixed-sports-metaphor. :D I'll assume that means Yao's been in the same situation as Carr. And I'll agree a qb is more dependent on the entire team than a center is in bb but... huh?

In football you load the box because you don't think the qb can beat you. In basketball you load the paint because you believe someone can...

    Er...

Carr can't beat teams over the top. So other teams just pile up on the line. Rockets can't shoot from outside, so other teams just clog the paint.
