NEW QUESTION: I very much liked the song "What Shall We Do Now?". It was in The Wall (film) and was cut from the studio version. Problem: at the very end of the song, there's the loud sound of breaking glass, and it really ruins the end of the song. Is there a studio cut of the song that doesn't have the breaking glass at the end of the song?
That's an interesting question, droxford. I have vaguely heard of that song but don't know it. I do know that it appears on the live album version of "The Wall": http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...832305-0726206?_encoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=5174 But I don't know if a studio version of this song exists; however, for the longest time, "When the Tigers Broke Free" was not available on any studio album except the "Echoes" compilation until they remastered "The Final Cut" and added it on there.
'Tigers' is one of my favs. On the movie of 'The Wall', the music is actually very different. 'Mother' has much more contrast in it. The piano intro to 'The Thin Ice' is twice as long. Geldoff sings both 'In The Flesh's. 'Outside the Wall' is extended and is much more musical. Other songs are different performances, too, like 'Empty Spaces' and 'Is There Anybody Out There'. But in many parts of those songs, there are sound effects from the film. I really wish they would have put out a soundtrack to the film. I would love to be able to listen to those songs. I know there's a bootleg 'soundtrack' (and I have it) but it just ripped the music from the film and has all the sound effects.
