Just a random thought, well I guess not so random as it's about the Rockets, but since I've been back in Houston (from college) I am able to attend the games. I arrive early...yeah I know, it's true...and am able to catch the opening sequences. The drum-intros were pretty cool, but I gotta say: The opening sequences for the Rockets this year, is simply awesome. Here I am, sitting at the Mavericks game, knowing we just might get ripped a new one, knowing I don't get to watch T-Mac play...but... Once the whole sequence starts, I find it really gets me pumped to watch my team play. The PA's voice and tone, the way the flame around The Toyota Center catches flame all around you, the sirens blazing and Clutch and the RPDs come running out... Just wanted to say that the Rockets organization is doing a great job getting me hyped for my team. Keep it going, b/c next year it's going to be even better!
It is MUCH better than the final years of the Compaq Center. I liked the "The Who" intro they had last year, and earlier this year they brought back the 95 championship intro theme. I'd really like to see a return to the championship theme again, as it seems they've moved away from that *unless it was just the games I've been to* Anyway, I'm sure TGrey can do the "ALLLLLLLLLLLLLRIGHT HOUSTON!...ON YOUR FEET" intro..can't he?
I agree. They've tweaked the intros several times this year in an attempt to get it right. There used to be a clip of a JVG speech, but they cut that out because it was just too subdued. I think they have found a good mix as it is right now.
Agreed. Much improved intro. Only one thing missing: Turbo. Turbo's not a man, he's an idea. Can't they bring someone back? That could even be part of the marketing for next year. The Triumphant Return of Turbo.
