Fizer moves to Chicago. Future NBA lottery pick Marcus Fizer has put school on hold and moved to an apartment in Chicago, where he has hired a trainer.

Fizer’s moves are made in the hope that he will be in top shape when NBA teams begin calling to set up individual workouts later this month, Eustachy said.

Fizer, a junior who declared for the NBA Draft last month, took “incompletes” for his classes last semester and has been allowed to complete them as correspondence courses. Eustachy said Fizer is three summers of classes away from obtaining his degree.

“It’s definitely in his plans,” Eustachy said, noting that former ISU center Kelvin Cato, now an NBA player with the Houston Rockets, will be back to Ames this summer to take classes toward finishing his degree.

Fizer’s agent, Henry Thomas, is based in Chicago, and the NBA’s pre-draft camp will be held there in early June. Fizer, an All-American last season, is projected by some analysts to be a top-five pick in June 28’s draft at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

Could this be a sign that the Bulls are going after him ? nbatalk has added this to the story :
"However, there are also rumblings out of Chicago that if the Bulls cannot move up in the draft and get Chris Mihm, that Fizer is the highest on their draft list. So perhaps Fizer is just moving closer to his new home."

So Brand at center and Fizer at PF? Either that or they trade for him after they draft him. Dunno.

Sorry... the thought of having 2 PF's of that caliber on the same team threw me for a loop. Hey, you gotta admit, it had more substance than the one where you talked with Barkley in a cave. [IMG]

also there is a story that one of the guys is possibly pulling out and guess who is the coach trying to give them a taste of reality.. yes , our own Rudy T.

Will Dooling Pull Out of the Draft? According to the KC Star, Keyon Dooling Is Feeling Pressure to Pull Out of the Draft. Rockets coach Rudy Tomjanovich is warning several NBA hopefuls that their hopes of going in the first round may be unrealistic. 'Every year there are several guys that are living in a fantasy world and not looking at their situation realistically,' Tomjanovich said, 'and get into that situation where they just lock themselves out of basketball.' 'We want what is best for Keyon,' MU associate head coach John Hammond said. 'Obviously, if what is best for him is to come back to Missouri, we'd love to have him. But if not, then we want that for him, too.' Hammond for one isn't convinced the Dooling is a first round pick. (Chris Monter has him listed him going at 21 to the Toronto Raptors). Hammond is a former NBA coach who knows the uncertainties of draft day: how pre-draft promises can be affected by trades, by projections going awry, by opinions that shift. Hammond has noticed the number of players projected for the 15 to 20 spots along with the 6-foot-3 guard Dooling. A universe of talent has been projected for those finite selections. 'That's the truth,' Hammond said. 'But the thing that works out with Keyon is when you're drafting for need. There are two positions that you draft for need: point guard and the five (center) position. There are some out there, that because of his size, say they could draft him as a combo guard, too.' So far, accordign to Hammonds, Dooling has protected his college eligibility by not hiring an agent and by paying all of his expenses to workouts.

I read an article where Tim Floyd talked about Fizer playing the 3. He DOES have ballhandling skills. A Fizer-Brand-Pryzbilla frontcourt wouldn't be that bad.

I hope the Bulls do draft Fizer because he's is going to be the biggest bust of this years draft.

He's going to be the next Kenny Thomas.

Kenny Thomas wasn't drafted in the top five like Fizer is going to be. If he was then he would be a bust too.

Fizer a bust, I think you must have gotten the wrong mushrooms on your pizza.

Fizer is IMNSHO the best player in the draft. I love his hustle, his desire, and his attitude, and his skill level is top notch.

Everytime he faced a challenge, he answered it....in fact..he TRUMPED it.

Mihm still has his sneaker marks all over his back.

Marcus Fizer is the real deal...

    IMNSHO - not so -

I think DaDakota is right on!

Fizer might not be the most talented are have the most upside but the guy shows up to play when it counts. Hell he almost single handedly carried his team to the final four. He has the kind of tenacity that is a rare commodity in the NBA. Maybe Martin and Swift are more talented and a better fit for the rockets than Fizer. But I would not be too unhappy if we got him.
