Thomas has hit FG's and 3P's at Phoenix at a 46% rate so far, playing 30 min a night and scoring 13 pts on average.

    Last night he hit 10-11, scored 23, 4 RB's, 3 assists in 24 min.

His Roland score on 82games.com is -7.9 so either he plays with the scrub squad (are there any scrubs on the Suns?) or he is a defensive sieve.

But he can hit a shot.

The one that got away. I know Gundy likes lock-down defenders - it would be nice to actually have one. But it would also be nice to have someone who can hit a shot.

TT would have been great on the Rox but I suspect that we are just not an attractive destination for FAs especially offensive minded FAs. I think players remember the DA and JJ deals and JVGs slow half court schemes as disincentives to coming here. We need to attract players other than the NBDL players we have been getting lately otherwise we are going nowhere fast.

how about the fact that regardless of system, TT would have gone to phoenix considering their record and chance of making the playoffs and immediate ability for PT due to injuries to Kurt and Amare?

....or the fact that Steve Nash would get me open layups and jumpers....and I don't even move.

Exactly, Nash is making a lot players look a lot better than they actually are, these guys will get paid in FA and be useless....see Quentin Richardson

We should give Suns' offense a little bit credit too. D'Antoni is an offense master.

Blaming JVG for Tim Thomas choosing to go to Phoenix is weak but it's nothing
new from the kind of thinking that takes over the mind of a JVG hater. We never heard in the papers of him wanting to go anywhere other than Phoenix. No other team. No other city. But forget that he didn't want to go to the Lakers, the Heat, the Clippers, the Cavs, the Kings, and was eyeing the Suns from the start and lets lay the blame on JVG for Tim Thomas wanting to go to the Suns? Try something else. that's not going to work. You have know complaint. quit your whining.

Tim Thomas can barely get 3 PPG in JVG's system.

Maybe we should trade Ryan Bowen to Phoenix. Then he would average 14ppg on 40% 3pt shooting and everyone would want him back. ;)

D'Antoni has a good offensive mind but just remember the games that Nash missed last year, the Suns dipped when he wasn't out there.

Nash is really the guy that makes that team run and if you remove him from the equation, IMHO, you get a very different Suns team

I'm sure you would understand if some/many/all would find it unimpressive/humorous of your clairvoyant acumen of Tim Thomas.

I liked Barkely's take on Tim Thomas' recent success...the guy just came off the streets and is putting up those numbers, that tells you that Nash is behind that. You put Tim on the Rockets and he will have about the same success as Derek Anderson and Swift. Not to mention his defensive prowess which will no doubt have JVG shower him with the usual flowery compliments and give him about the same minutes as other past defensive stalwarts like MoT.

In fact, Tim Thomas = a skinny MoT

Tim Thomas can shoot. Derek Anderson, and Swift have that Dick Cheney accuracy.

Yao and Tmac are the only players on the team that can even walk in a straight line.

Thanks to Steve Nash.... Everyone on the Suns roster should buy Steve Nash a Rolex or a new Ride.

He makes Amare Stoudamire and Marion who are stars look like Superstars.

He makes Boris Diaw an unproven player with nice skills look like a star

He makes Raja Bell and Eddie House role players look much better than they really are.

He inspires greater play from Tim Thomas by getting him perfect dimes. Tim Thomas is the kind of player that if he scores and gets the ball then it makes him more excited to play defense and try harder. And for scrubs like Pat Burke he has a job because of the success of the Suns thanks to Nash.

Well I guess Tim had a definite opinion about where he wanted to play and who he wanted to play for. Which means that his opinion of the Suns, Nash and D'Antoni is higher than his opinion of other teams (plural) and their players and coach, which includes the Rockets.

But it does make me wonder when we will see a quality FA get excited about wanting to come to play for the Rockets, especially with all the opportunities to work into what is acknowledged as a very weak rotation. There are openings here for quality players to step in and contribute. It will be interesting to see who shows interest this summer.

Tim Thomas could be getting an awful lot of playing time right now with this team. But he is already getting steady work with the Suns - a team that is playing at a very high level right now and has a great bench.

If Tim played for Rockets he would be coming off of bench for Ryan Bowen and Juwan Howard and would be averaging 5ppg and 2 rpg for the season.

    JVG makes sure his acquisitions
    go thru his inquisitions,
which never results in any sort of restitution.
