In the last twenty years I estimate that law grad starting wages are roughly 2.0 to 2.5 times higher; minimum wage is up about .75; and probably most other jobs have increases somewhere in between the two or at least not exceeding the law wages. Meanwhile in Texas, state law school tuition is up 18 x's, UTundergrad tuition is up 9x's, private u tuitions are up about 6 to 9 times and even community college tuition is up roughly 4 x's.

    Student loans are up naturally.

This is what the GOP economy looks like for the college educated, who are not elite. This why more and more move back home after college, delay buying a house or run up credit card debt. This is just the college educated version of what is happening to the rest of the working class with decreased pensions, health care etc.

I'm so glad we got the Texas Tomorrow Fund the first year it was available (it no longer is) for our two kids. Republicans keep cutting taxes, and cutting funding for education, while they claim to be for education ("I'll be the Education President!"), which requires the money to come from somewhere.

It's a shell game, folks. They keep claiming to cut taxes, and for some of us with high enough incomes, we come out ahead, but the reality is that you are paying more taxes, not less, because of the increased burden at the state, county, and local level. So if you are middle class or, heaven help you, working class or poor, you are up the proverbial creek without a paddle. Good luck.

If you are wealthy and/or a big corporation, you're making out like a bandit.

    Keep D&D Civil.
