I like TNT way better than ESPN. Thier Sportcenter is like a mess, too much comercials. I didn't watch ESPN since a long time
When a dog bite a human being, it is not a news. When a human bite a dog, it is a news. When Yao dunked on someone, it is not a news When Yao got dunked by somone, it is a news.
Why the hell are people perpetuating the myth that Yao got dunked on by Ginobili and Finley? The Ginobili dunk might actually be close, but I'd put it more like he dunked around Yao instead of on him. When he dunked the ball, Yao had just got back to the non charge zone. If he tried to dunk without using his speed and Yao wasn't almost at the FT line, he would have got the ball shoved right down his throat. And the Finley dunk ain't even close. Yao didn't shift over fast enough from the other side of the block. Blame it on our lousy perimeter D.
1. When Rockets win and Yao have a monster game like the 3 straight 30+ points, 10+ rebound games that Yao had recently, he didn't get any props. The 38pt. 10rb. 5blk performance against the pacers was not mentioned at all on ESPN. 2. That's what exactly Yao was called on SportsCenter after the Spurs game.
Dont know. We need to go back to the begining of sports center. Whether it was the fans that made it this way, or it influnced the fans that way. Here we go again, is it media's job to shape the audience or merely mirror the mass. Sports center is a joke, IMO, and there are lot of people in this country are out of touch with the rest of world. I say both.
Nobody said they were upset that they showed more highlights of Duncan then Yao they were upset because ESPN was badmouthing Yao after another monster game calling him Shawn Bradley. Selective reading I guess.
Was it an ESPN camara man that injured David Wesley? If so then ESPN had as much to do with us loosing as the Spurs.
I don't mind if they want to show Dunks around Yao Ming. They happened at crucial points in the game in a Rockets loss. But saying Yao Ming is morphing into Shawn Bradley.. uh let me break your neck in two mf'er.
ESPN is the ONLY place I can see Rockets Highlights here in DFW...sorry, but the Fox Southwest Sports Report is usually only DFW team stories and highlights. There have been many times that the ROX won the game, yet they showed 3 highlights from the losing team..and only 1 from the ROX. Not to mention showing maybe 1 highlight from Yao when he has a 30+ point game. They DO NOT show any respect to the ROX or Yao even when they win.
All the hating on Yao reminds of the hate towards Alex Rodriguez. Both guys don't get into trouble, play hard and are great players, and are considered friendly towards the media, yet both of these guys get savaged by the media all the time. I know in A-Rod's case some of it has to do with his contract and packaged persona, but here in New York the newspapers always write crap about him and a lot of Yankees fans don't like him. In Yao's case, no matter what he does it doesn't seem to please the media in any way. I don't know about you but it does seem like athletes that are not from this country (Hakeem Olajuwon) or part of an ethnic minority don't get the same kind of treatment or respect that white athletes get. Look at the way Jason Giambi is treated in the media and the way Barry Bonds is treated even though both of them probably took steroids. Same goes for Mark McGwire. I think a double standard exists in this country.
No problem. If we have a similar thread here I think Dirk will be on at least 50% of the most hated teams.
It's pretty funny sometimes to see words like this ""I am Chinese, but I am going to make fun of chinese, or I hate chinese for this and that, and it's ok, because I am chinese". It reminds me so much of posts showed up frequently two years ago, like "I have been a Rockets fan since 19xx, because of that, I can hate current players from A to Z." Guess some people thought "because" is the same as "but".
