1)Campaign Financing,Government Corruption and Ethics,Corporate Lobbying. Until these issues are addressed and corrected, politicians will be looking out for the needs of contributors,donors and anyone with enough money instead of the american public regardless of party. 2)Education How about investing in the future of america, it's youth. This will impact our society positively culturally,technologically and economically. 3)Affordable Medical coverage for all. Cant' we get the same medical coverage for the people we send to Washington or is this just another one way street. 4)Enviroment Any country willing to destroy it's enviroment is just going to end up destroying itself. 5) Energy To become more self dependent by focusing on cheaper and more natural forms of energy.
Big government issues... Budget Medicare Environment energy Defense Tax and pork barrel reform (outside of budget since Capitol Hill makes it so)
1. Campaign finance reform: You can't fix a house if your contractors are crooks. 2. Education: Teachers and lawyers should trade salaries. 3. Energy policy: This includes better public transportation and aggressive subsidization of alternative-fuel vehicles. 4. Healthcare: Healthcare for everyone. Period. Amazingly enough, I really don't care that much about the hot button issues like terrorism, gay rights, abortion, ten commandments in schools, or flag burning.

1) Illegal Immigration 2) Social Security reform 3) protection from possible future stock market crash 4) American spending/lack of saving 5) Outsourcing of jobs overseas 6) efficiency of tax utilization I predict that, in the next 20 years, we will experience the worst stock market crash since 1929 (and possibly rivaling that crash) followed by another great depression. This depression will last much longer than the one that began with the crash in 1929.
A combination of many things, really. For the babyboomers, American retirement methods changed from pensions to 401k's, moving retirement savings to the stock market. When they retire, they're going to be forced to sell their retirement stock. This will result in a surge of stock selling, and if there's more sellers than buyers, it doesn't spell good things for the market. At the same time, Americans are continuing to save for retirement in negative numbers. Meaning - we're not saving. In fact, we're going into debt more and more. And as we all know that crap is gonna hit the fan someday. Americans' affulenza is gonna catch up to us and the "continue to borrow money" well is gonna run dry. At that time, we'll see mass foreclosures and reposessions. Interest rates will plummet to encourage people to borrow and spend, but it won't work - people will already be in so much debt that they will not only be forced to cut their spending, they'll have to sell their goods and properties and take up second jobs. Even that won't be enough to pay off the massive interest that they've accrued. Social Security will continue to fail and our elected politicians are scared to death to fix it. More and more people will have to live off the system, costing the government (and American people) more money. The massive house foreclosures and mortgage defaults will result in the bottom falling out of the real estate market. Cats and dogs living together... mass hysteria.
1. Abortion - the murder of about a million innocent people every year cannot be allowed to continue. No other issue has such a negative impact. 2. Energy - there is a giant fusion reactor floating up in the sky, if we can harness its output with a high efficiency, there will be no need to rely on our other methods of power generation (ie. burning stuff). How can we have advanced so little from the days of the cavemen? As a big bonus, the sun is free to everyone. 3. Healthcare - make Medicare open to everyone. This will necessitate raising taxes. 4. The Tax Code - this thing is a monster, and it needs to be destroyed. Let's migrate to a consumption tax. Saving should be encouraged. 5. Transportation - why do we still need individual transportation methods. There should be some system by which everyone has access to some mode of rapid transit that they can walk to from their house and their destination. This one isn't going to happen anytime soon, but it is a nice long term goal. 6. Institutionalized Discrimination - everyone should be treated equally under the law. Someone wants to get married? Great do it. Two people want to apply for the same job/college/whatever? Give it to the more qualified person. I do not want to be party to a system that says you can or can't do something because of your color/religion/sexual orientation/hairstyle/whatever. Get back to me when those things get worked out and I will give you some more.

Equal in my mind are national security and civil liberties. Right now the balance is getting skewed more and more towards downgrading civil liberties in the name of national security IMO there isn't much point to saving the country if to do it we become a police state with no government accountability.

Why? It's not our government's responsibility to feed everyone else's babies. Leave it to private charities and institutions that want to do that sort of thing.
