If you know a really good massage therapist, and an equally good chiropractor, they can do wonders, depending on the physical problem. (in my case, chronic back pain, post-surgery... years after the surgery, in fact) The trick is to know excellent practitioners. I have also been helped by using alternative methods of lowering my genetically-caused astronomically high lipids, or they would be astronomical, were I not doing a lot about it.

I'm tempted to try an acupuncturist, but haven't, yet. I'm certainly open-minded about the idea.

    They each serve their purpose.

I voted for Chiroprator, because my neck would be a wreck without him.

If you go see a good acupuncturist, he/she will give you some herbal remedies to go along with your treatment. Most of the time it's some tea of some sort, but not always.

Horrible poll, where's the all of the above function?

They are different methods for different treatments of different things. And as another poster has said, acupuncture and herbal in may cases are similiar.

A fine massage therapist can really work off that stress for you.

Afterwards you can take the herb

Most alternative medicine practitioners no longer consider chiropractor a part of the alternative community. They have become very mainstream and made quite a lot of modifications to their overall practice style to accomodate insurance company requests.

Massage therapy is probably the one I've used the most and found the most beneficial. But, a good naturopath is hard to beat for general, overall health.

Acupuncture has been helpful in the past, but my favorite is the massage. I am pretty easy going generally, but after a good hour of deep tissue, I'm the nicest guy ever. :D

Say it with me. GRT cold laser therapy. (not sure if that's the exact term)

Pretty crazy stuff, but they basically use lasers to stimulate your nervous system, etc. Cured years of ankle problems for me.

Your mind is the best medicine... I have the firm belief that you can heal yourself of your minor ailments if you put your mind to it.
