Scientist SCREAM for PROOF PROOF PROOF but the problem is that new proof . .new evidence shows up everyday GOD is a being with better technology . . technology that we cannot understand in our life time as much as scientist want to b*tch that their is no proof If I went back in time . . .and started dealing with Cavemen I'm quite sure i could do a bunch of 'SUPERNATURAL' things Some of the things that scientist like to scream about is just plain silly to me more importantly they LACK IMAGINATION . . . which is the crust of Scientific developement IMO, Science is the human attempt to understand the mechanism of GOD I'm quite sure some Hollywood special effects guys could make some convincing burning bushes put it back a 1000 yrs go . . and it is VERY CONVINCING Why is it that Religion and Science cannot Co-Exist? Rocket River
Actually, I think sometimes science is a religion. They have the same dogmatic approach to a lot of things. And whenever new ideas are raiseed they immediatly gang up and try to discredit them. Sad. DD
I think they can co-exist, but they deal with two different realms. It is only when people in those realms try to extend influence over the other that problems arise. I will let science deal with questions of science, and religion will deal with questions of the spirit.
That is the answer. The trouble begins when science tries to deal with questions of the spirit, and religion tries to explain science.
I don't beleive that to be so Science deals with things we understand Religion deals with thinkgs we don't understand Religion at times attempts to unexplained things that have been explained Science attempts to tread on faith in things we don't understand Science is constantly making inroads as we understand more but as of now. . . the relam of religion is much larger but not as large as it was 1000 yrs ago Rocket River
Science explains how we live and how we got here. Religion can explain why we live and why we're here. If science and technology ever explains the metaphysical and the afterlife, then I can see a merging of ideologies into a field still unimagined. I doubt we'll ever see that in the near or distant future. So for now, I can accept that distinction.
Remember those cowboy and injun movies we use to watch as kids? Injuns would say crap like 'the god of the moon is unhappy with us and gave us 7 months of drought". We can see that as primitive. Or we can see that as a precursor to our own "Western" religion(s). We all try to put a human face on God, in order to explain things like floods, earthquakes, fires, drought, etc. We even go as far as saying stuff like "God created us in his own image", "God the Father", "King of Kings", etc. Of course the science-God problem arises when we try to explain everything via God. You think we would have learned our lesson by now. Maybe the Earth is really flat and the sun and stars all revolve around around *us*. That belief at least puts *us* in the right perspective.
