I think, actually i know, if he comes through with another big 20/10 game and a win in san antonio, coupled with some losses by teams infront of us ( all playing teams with better records this weekend) could finally catapult us into serious discussions.

I just can't understand the "mental pain" someone was talking about when his "mother-in-law" was dying....you've got to go to her funeral on Sunday (hopefully no game), but "mental pain" and skip a crucial game? Compare that with some actual pain in your toe, and never complain, we know who you can rely on when things are tough. I'm glad that the seemingly tough time for Houston weed out the wimpy ones.

The problem is we haven't beaten any credible opponents as of yet, let alone won many games on national TV (seems like this season we're always getting whipped on national TV).

In order for Yao or any Rocket to get some recognition, we MUST beat a top-notch team in the league, and not just beat up on the average ones.

The Spurs/Dallas games will provide that opportunity for Yao and the Rockets, hope he continues to force his critics and haters to eat massive crow.

No, you give me a break!

What's our freakin' record with Yao and T-Mac both playing? We're not a freakin' mediocre team, we're a top 5-6 team in this league record-wise when everyone is healthy. We're EASILY a 55+ game winner when everyone is healthy.

In the East, the only teams that can be considered better or at our level are Detroit and Miami. In the West, there is the Spurs, Mavs, Suns, and may be the Clippers.

Sorry, but this is NOT an 'average' team when everyone is healthy and can play.

Anyone who thinks we're "what our record is" is simply stupid and doesn't have a grasp of reality.

This is a good team, my only complaint/concern all along was that despite the fact that we're a good team, we're not good enough to win it all by beating the Spurs and the Pistons. My aim is to win it all, not just make the playoffs. IMO, we're not there yet, even with a fully healthy squad.

I guess such event would affect Tmac's family member as well, and we never know if his girlfriend desperately need his help at that period. There are a lot of things bigger than basketball in one's life.

Ironic that his plea for more attention to yao could be found at the very bottom of his article.

While you or I may think a healthy rockets team would be top 5-6 and that we would win 55+ games, that doesnt make it true. It might be likely, probable and debateable, but definitely not a matter of fact.

Lots of people, including many great coaches, such as Bill Parcells have said and love to say, "you are, your record" and I doubt they are simply stupid and dont have a grasp of reality as you asserted.

yeah yeah reality is reality but its also really freaking obvious that when you have injuries especially in a sport like basketball moreso then soccer, football, baseball, and hockey to your best 2 players and there both max players that you will suffer.

so uhm yeah unless you think that luther head and bogans in tmacs place, and 40-something old mutumbo in yaos place gives you a better chance to win then yeah we probably would be around 55 wins for the year give or take a few wins.

The article should have mentioned how Yao would have had 50 if it weren't for the refs.

People just hate foreign bigs that have never played college ball. Highschool and foreign bigs take 4 years to develop. Amare and Dwight Howard are exceptions. Though Amare and Dwight still haven't averaged 20-10 yet. Eddy Curry and Tyson Chandler haven't done well and they are in their 5th or 6th year.

Dirk got all the same crap in his first 4 years. He slowly improved and by his 4th year, he was basically a 20/10 guy also. That's why I don't think Darko can be called a bust yet. He still needs 2 years to get the needed strength to bang down low.
