I love that. And i've always been told that the more intelligent of the two are the ones without faith.

and guess what dragons turned out to be...........

    DINOSAURS

yep for eons people would occasionally stumble across dinosaur fossils and so they made up into stories their own ideas of what they were.

i hear you. it's reactionary. but it's reacting to what he perceived as condescension. which, frankly, i sensed as well.

I doubt it. I have dozens of friends I've known for nearly 20 years. That doesn't happen by being a "bad" guy. Most people say I'm the most trust-worthy guy they know.

Knowing me personally would be the only way you could rightfully make this assumption.

I love how the hate-mongers come out in full force anytime something having to do witch Christians comes up... REGARDLESS of what it is, they are generally the ones that move the discussion to D&D not the people the topic was originally intended for. Don't believe? MOVE ALONG! If that is indeed's Noah's Ark I'd be happy to see it, but if it is or isn't that doesn't change my level of faith. As someone stated earlier you can't equate science or math into religion in anyway, faith is faith for a reason.

Don't believe in Noah's Ark? Then by all means find somewhere else to post because your idiotic jabs here aren't going to change anyone's views on their religious beliefs... only your character, or lack there of.

That would be a plausible explantion.

Another explanation is that the world has been way more interconnected than most people believed.

Maybe China and Europe (both owners of dragon myths) have been trading goods and culture for a very long time.

Maybe the people of central Asian steppes (Arians, Huns, Mongols) have facilitated cultural exchange between the East and the West, but not given credit for it since thye themselves were very priitive.

Maybe the trading cultures of the Middle East (Phoenicians, Persians) have facilitated cultural exchange.

Your problem is that you can't realize that you don't have to take the Old Testament literally to be a Christian. So your post really doesn't make any sense.

These is nothing wrong with making fun of creationists or people who belive in Noah's Ark. They deserve it.

    [refocusing the thread]

I just want to say that we cannot know if that is the ark unless it is excavated. And we simply cannot excavate that, due to it's elevation, location, and who knows what the structural integrity is of the artifact, and how much remains.

But if it is a boat, that's a damn big boat. :D

We were going over this topic at a conservation seminar not too long ago...

The why do people need to dress up faith beliefs (like Noah's Ark) as something that they are not.
I would probably react similarly to a story about exciting new proof of the Loch Ness monster (or Alien super-race living on the dark side of the Moon who have Pink Floyd songs in heavy rotation on their iPods or ...)

To a Creationist, the world is probably right around 5000 years old. Also, to a Creationist, when God created man, he looked like you and me, well not exactly like you or me, but similarily evolved. Moses was not lumbering around on his knuckles when he parted the Red Sea.

the Hindu creation story...the earth was created on the back of a turtle.

bottom line is you have an axe to grind against Christianity. you have what you consider to be truth and you consider those who disagree with you to be ignorant and worthy of ridicule. it's your m.o. in every thread that touches on Christianity.

that's fine...i don't have a real problem with it. i've come to expect it.

I'd take the condescension in this thread over these Christians every minute of the day.

I'm guessing the parents of the dead soldiers agree.
