Which is why I posted the "write his own ticket" quote. Roger has a little more respect for the game than that. As does Koby.

Also, adding Koby to the 40-man initiates the timeline for his future arbitration elibility and free agency.

So in essence, you're sacrificing *two* prospects (if Koby's really a prospect).

    Eh...should have said "25-man" there.

DD...care to make a friendly wager?

He's still only 19, but he has surpassed the Astros expectations thus far. Dude can rake.

The Stros draft last year looks to be a great one (verrrrry early) - Flores, Iorg, Bogusevic, Manzella, Ryan Mitchell, Clemens among others.

Would you sacrifice Bobby Abreu? It's an extreme example, but that's the decision the Astros made when they kept Richard Hidalgo protected instead of Abreu. It is not out of the realm of possibility that we could lose a good to great player if we were to do that.

I don't believe anything he says about retiring unless it's "I officially retire."

Should've traded Derrick "6-4-3" Bell and protected both of those guys.

Well, he said *that* back in '03.

    I'll believe it when he's 50. :D

Easy to say now....for every Bobby Abreu or Johan Santana, there are 25 Joe Shmos

So true; for every Bobby Abreu there are indeed a dozen Daryle Wards.

Wandy proved himself a worthy 5th day starter last year. Zeke showed flashes of talent and has a years experience under his belt. Everybody is a rookie once.

In addition, I thought Abreu was left unprotected in the expansion draft...not Rule V

yankee fans are spinning him saying that he might get motivated while in stands in boston or new york as meaning he is coming back to them and not houston

njrocket.. I know he said the motivated thing... but my yankee fan friends are saying that by mentioning Boston and New York as parks he may be sitting in this summer... that means he isn't going to return to houston

Look I don't pay attention to anything Clemens says, this is the same guy who once said he would never leave Boston unless it was to go home to the astros we allknew he was full of bs as he took the money in toronto and then voided a trade to Houston because he wanted an extention even though at first he agreed on a trade. Then he goes to the yanks and says after his stink there he will retire then comes here.

Look this guy obviously needs attention and even though I would not hold my breath he probally will end up with the stros by june 1
