Yeah, I stopped drinking sodas when I stopped exercising on a regular basis. If I didn't drop my Dr. Pepper habbit, I would be HUGE right now.
It hasn't affected me. At first i stayed away from it. Once i grew tired of drinking nothing but water i began drinking it again. I've continued to lose weight, so no problems here. In fact, i'm finishing up a large iced tea from jack in the box as we speak.
Good question. I suppose if you don't overdue it then tea isn't all that bad, in fact tea actually has some helth benefits if I remember right.
I think green tea does. I just got a box of Celestial Seasonings decaf mint green tea...good stuff...
as a result of this thread i went to mickey d's and got a quarter-pounder with cheese, fries and a coke. typically i don't touch the stuff, thanks a lot guys.
I've never liked soda so don't drink any of it and I've never been overweight, even though I've been working out sparingly and studying all the time. Also, haven't really changed my diet too much. I started to gain a little the past year, but I cut out juice, meaning I only drink water, milk, tea and occasionaly coffee. I find that cutting out those sugars leads to more immediate results after working out. Two times to the gym last week and my waistline already shrunk down a size.
Its fine as long as you don't load it with sugar. According to another study I read, tea drinkers tend to live longer. Green tea is even better.
has anyone here had coke zero? the stuff is absolutely delicious. i switched to only having diet sodas about a year ago. ill admit some of the stuff out there is nasty but then coke zero came along, and im ADDICTED to the stuff. ive tasted regular coke a couple of times since i started drinking coke zero and to me, it doesnt even compare to coke zero. just an opinion coming from a coke zero junkie.
I used to drink a lot of canned iced tea (arizona, nestea, Brisk) which are loaded with sugar. I had to stop those, not only do they have as much (or more) sugar than soda, but they are also worse for your teeth.
I've really cut down my soda intake the last couple years, I still have a Dr. Pepper every once in a while. I just couldn't keep dumping sugar water into my body all the time. I drink tons of water, there is nothing better to hydrate yourself.
I cut way back on sodas while I was in college. I noticed immediate benefits. Not only did I lose some weight, but some recurring stomach issues I had went away. Now I'll have 2-3 sodas in a week. I used to have 4-5 a day.
I just gave up soda and beer for lent. I typically drink two or more cokes a day during the week. The first day off cokes I got a terrible headache. Right now I am exhausted at work. I plan on giving up sodas for good. But right now I am still adjusting to the lack of caffeine.
I used to drink soda about 3-4 times a day. I went on a diet and cut out sodas completely. Today I only drink sodas when I go out to eat which is roughly once a week. That has kept me in control otherwise I'd still be drinking it 3-4 times a day and my body defintely cannot handle that.
