What makes you guys think he's a top 5 player now? Just because of his numbers? This is his third year, they better make the playoff now. Otherwise, he's running out of excuse. At the minute he entered the league, Cavs had enough talents around him. Remember Boozer and Big Z? Now Gooden, Big Z and Hughes? He's surrounded with quality big men, allstars, pure shooters, veterans. Unlike when MJ started. He's undoubtably very very talented. But he has to exam himself more, especially his ego and approach to the game. That's the guy claimed to lead the team, before he saw NBA floor, that's the guy had "chosen one" on his head, that's the guy who's called "King James", and constantly compared to MJ. Obviously it's not his fault that the media hyped him, but he has fair share to hype himself. Stats-wise, he's broken many individual records. But he has yet to show that he can make his teammates better. His assists don't really make teammates better, just make himself stats-wise better. I have been watching him for a while, he will normally dished out some assists to teammates in opening quarter. Then he will feel it's enough, and starts to take over in the second quarter and third, to pick up points. So his teammates go cold again. If he can't be hot for the rest of the game, they are in trouble. His teammates won't get in rythem again. He's super talented, that's for sure, but he got to play within the team, get them involved all the time. Big Z is not bad inside, but there are always quarters when he doesn't see the ball at all. James can't set assists in one quarter, and then do it all by himself for the next two, and expect role players to step up in crunch time. He could easily be top 5 talented, but top 5 player? Are you kidding me? TD, KG, Kobe, Nash, Brand, Billups, Wade, speaking of the impact of a team, the list goes on and on. How all of a sudden, a talented young player, picked first, failed to take his team to playoffs for two years with very good supporting casts, becomes top 5 player?
And what's all these talk about he's young? He's young, so he's top 5? He has to be at top 5 to be called a top 5 player. He has incredible potential, he could even be top 1, but that doesn't mean he's top 5 now. Did you hear Collins comparing him with Clyde now, restreating from previous comparison to MJ? Let's be reasonable, don't make the word "great" or "top" too cheap, don't make MJ too cheap.
i think this is the first time ever on the internet or amongst sport circles across the nation, where i have the comparison and/ or defense of Manu of Lebron there is nothing the man/boy cant do, remember kobe in his first three years, he took big shots but missed and i dont think anyone would argue that he is now one of the premiere clutch players in the NBA
you guys are crazy, cavs won that game, they're gonna make the playoffs, and lebron's numbers are outstanding. the dude's averaging 30 points on 47% almost 7 boards and 7 assists and you don't think he's top 5 just because he hasn't carried a team to the playoffs? the guy plays for one of the worst franchises in the history of sports. how soon we forget why they had the number one pick. but he didn't get to the playoffs with carlos boozer at the age of 19? that's your argument?
He's young, that's why he has plenty of time to prove to be top 5. Do you think a team of Big Z, Boozer, Ricky Davis, Darius Miles, Battie, Mihm and your King James, is not talented enough to go into playoffs in the Eastern conference? They were 35-47! How's that an argument of top 5 player? Nobody writes him off, and everyone admits his super talent, but does that make you top 5? Just because he's young and put up nice numbers? I thought top 5 players supposed to lead your team to victories, as he claimed before he entered the league.
no one said he was top five that year and even if they did, that team came off a season with the worst record, so no they weren't that good.
fine who is better than lebron this year? and last time i checked they were still a 4 seed in the east and 7 over .500 so that would kind of show he is leading them to victories.
You have a hard time to find a better player? What about Nash, TD, KG, Brand, Marion, and Kobe? In my opinion, even Wade is better than him, simply for his clutchness. If you say top 5 guards, maybe, just maybe I will give it to you. But top 5 players? No, not now.
what is it with the lebron freakin james??? sound so gay.. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=109706
