There are some spoiler pics on the net **Spoiler** Of a balloon with a smiley face that some of the losties find. Whether Gale really was on it, or he adopted it as part of his cover we don't know. He is a smart little bugger, and with that look in the last epi, or him playing Locke like a fiddle, he's definately hiding something.
Yeah, I was thrown when I pegged the bearded man's voice but then he looked like someone else completely! Jack and Co. are in for a very rude surprise if they think they're tackling some ragtag bunch. Evan
I know what you mean and I guess it explains all the F/X during Jack, Lockes and Sawyers encounter with the "others"
This has the feel of a bunch of scientists doing some kind of experiments on particular people...needing specific people based on some unknown criteria(with an emphasis on babies and kids in particular). These scientists, led by the fake-bearded deep talker, are putting up a front of being a bunch of savage, mob-like SOBs to scare the plane-wrecked islanders into submission. In reality, their a big bunch of scientist-type p*****s who probably can't even shoot a gun worth a darn and walk around with lit torches to give the appearance of being scary. It's all a means for them to conduct their experiments while keeping the plane-wrecked peeps in a scared state so they won't revolt. Yea...and they also run around dragging off their experiment victims when they feel like it. I think Jack was dead on that these guys are wimps, should build up the army, and storm those SOBs to find the answers they need. Of course, since dipsh*t Sawyer now controls the guns, it's not going to happen until they get past that crapola. It's interesting that the Darma facility they found appeared to be abandoned now....which means those "others" must be at a different facility now or not even on the island unless they need to be. It's obvious the "others" are not having to camp out like the plane-wrecked. They put on their costumes and pretend to be someone their not. They have their agenda and they have their subjects to experiment on. It was a good episode finally. Hopefully, they pick up the pace from here on out.
I think you're underestimating them a bit. They seemed to handle the guns just fine when they took Walt, plus during the circle-of-torches showdown, one of them niked Sawyer's neck with a warning shot (he was reaching). That was the work of a marksman. Even more importantly, where did Team Jack get their guns? From a Dharma hatch. One of at least 6 that are on the island, probably not including the Other's HQ. I'd say chances are slim that the Others would be outmanned, outgunned, or in any other sort of disadvantage. Evan
Has there been any updates on the guy they found in the hatch? The guy that was pushing the button by himself before they showed up.
I would imagine they have some individuals who are trained and probably ex-military types. Then, they have a bunch of scientists who probably are not gun experts. It's tough to say at this point.
I also thought it was very intresting that the place was in such disarry as if it had been abandoned for years not a month or so....
Yea...you know there was something going on with that guy. I would guess he is an "other" since he seemed to have no problem getting the hell out of there. Plus, he had all the luxuries of living in the Dharma underground facility. If he isn't an "other", then how the hell did he know where he was going when he just took off? I'm also surprised at how he was just let go to go off whereever. I wasn't buying his BS story he gave to the plane-wrecked.
if you recall, Locke's always had a problem with people telling him what he can't do. i didn't think it was beyond the realm of possibility that Henry's comments would upset Locke.
We know plenty about Desmond. He was racing a boat around the world and he somehow got lost and crashed on the island as well. Somebody else who was in the hatch before him, Kelvin took him in and showed him what to do. Then Kelvin either died or ran off, I don't remember. As for Desmond, all we know is he thought the world would end because they couldn't fix the computer at first and he ran off into the jungle. Jack catches up with him and Desmond gives him the code and then remembers that he met Jack before while training at a stadium.
Actually, it was only abandoned for a few days. When they last met the Others, Zeke was wearing the beard. She pulled out the beard and glue that he was wearing from one of the lockers. They must have known that the Losties would come so they trashed the place? Maybe someone else or one of the monsters?
Can Mr Ecko smell fresh meat or what? I wasn't sure if he was trying to threaten Henry Gale or claim him as his property like in Oz.
Yeah I remember but the whole ploy was just a little too thinly veiled for Locke not to catch on to what he was doing.
All we know, besides what we have seen from Jack in flashbacks, is what Desmond has told us. I don't trust him.
Exactly, for all we know Desmond could have only been in there for a very short while and his whole "story" a fabrication
I'm fairly certain time travel is going to be part of the picture (remember the slave ship and this helps to explain a lot of the connections and coincedinces) so don't put too much stock in trying to nail down a time line for events.
What exactly did we learn last night? Didn't we already know that the others were scientists and wanted Claire's baby?
