Ironically enough, The County Line has one of the best Prime Ribs I've ever eaten.

I think I must be missing something here. Cooking a steak is not Rocket Science. Cook 3/4 minutes on one side, flip, and repeat. There are marinades, but is that really the steak we are talking here?

Bottomline is that the quality of the steak purchased by the restaurant has more to do with the steak than the actual preparation. That is not say some restaurants can't screw up cooking a steak.

And that is why the best steak is off my grill. ;)

I eat out all the time but I never order something that I can do better AND cheaper at home. Did I say BETTER at home? Don't forget the cheaper part too. :D

I've gotta Give mention to the Palm. Never gets any respect, but you can't go wrong with a half/half, wedge salad and ny strip, or the filet. Seems the most consistent of any of the steakhouses.

I've bought a steak at a restaurant once in my life it was at Houstons about 10 years ago? don't remember if it was any good, definately remember spending close to 100 bucks for two people, if money is the meter, follow the green for gristle.

I cook my own steaks, hands off! :)

Couldn't agree more...there's no sense ordering a one big ol steak from a restaurant when it could be done just as easily from home.

That said, if you are talking about a "steak experience" in which case you get to sample a dozen different cuts of beef all in one go, you can't beat Fogo de Chao. I'm back in Houston in less than a week and will be filling up there...

    Fleming's...yes.

The only thing Sullivan's is good for is picking up old horny drunken skank. The food there sucks gorilla balls.

Pappa's Steakhouse: The most over-rated restaurant I've ever been to. Me and the wife went here for our anniversary a few months ago and it was such a let down. The steak just didn't have a good flavor at all. I had a strip and she had a filet w/ lobster tail. It was all bad.

My favorites are Perry's and Ruth's Chris. I didn't think Pappa's came close to either of them.

Not as good as it used to be. It's slid downhill over the past couple of years, IMHO.

I've wondered about Taste of Texas. I'd always heard it was good but have never tried it. Is it worth going to once or should I stay clear of it?
