Want to make sure y'all get shirts if you come. Last night we had to waste shirts on lame fans who acted like they were watching a game of cricket. Also, does anyone know the name of the "Rush" song that has "red alert" in the lyrics. Think it may be "Distant Early Warning" but not sure...
Hey Ken, I would suggest that for the immediate future, we may be best served picking a few games in advance and concentrating our ticket buying for them. I can't say for sure, but I doubt we have the money/resources to hit each of the remaining 13 games or so with the thunder we did against the Warriors. I know I'm hard pressed to continue adding games to my 14 game package, though I want to support this effort. Do you know in advance the games that will have ticket promotions (Guys Night Out), etc? That would help scrunge together a full-force pack of Red Alert Clutchfans. I recieved an email from Jerry about Mar 15 vs Dal being one, and that gives me enough time to pull together some people to join in. Evan
Can someone share the link for more info on how to join the Red Alert squad? Have voice, will travel. (When I can afford to.)
I agree. The fun in it is the whole bunch showing up. Last night wasn't as good as the Warriors games...but still ok. But if it continues to slide, the whole thing will lose its mojo. --- Kdawg, as an aside, I was in Row 19 (the last Red Alert row) and I nearly got into fistacuffs with the dudes in Row 20 that were pissed that we were standing up. Honestly, I can't blame them but... Then, one of the ushers TOLD us to sit down. We nearly ripped his head off so he went away. In the future, can you, Brian, or somebody be there at the start of the game to help out the folks behind the Red Alert section. They paid good $ and they should get relocated to a "calmer" section where they can quitely blackberry all night. Otherwise, it could easily turn ugly ...as it nearly did last night.
YEs you got it right- HEre are the lyrics RUSH LYRICS "Distant Early Warning" An ill wind comes arising Across the cities of the plain There's no swimming in the heavy water No singing in the acid rain Red alert Red alert It's so hard to stay together Passing through revolving doors We need someone to talk to And someone to sweep the floors Incomplete Incomplete The world weighs on my shoulders But what am I to do? You sometimes drive me crazy But I worry about you I know it makes no difference To what you're going through But I see the tip of the iceberg And I worry about you... Cruising under your radar Watching from satellites Take a page from the red book Keep them in your sights Red alert Red alert Left and rights of passage Black and whites of youth Who can face the knowledge That the truth is not the truth? Obsolete Absolute ............ I know it makes no difference To what you're going through But I see the tip of the iceberg And I worry about you Absalom Absalom Absalom
If you start playing Rush songs at Rockets games you'll have Surfguy driving down from Fort Worth for every game.
Props to the poster who beat me to it. BTW, K-Dawg, go to Google and type "red alert" lyrics rush Google has everything. Anytime you want ot find a song and all you have is a fragment of lyrics, put the lyrics you know in quotes and then the word lyrics outside the quotes in google and it will find your song ~95% of the time.
I know..I heard about the fans getting pissed. I plan on sitting down with some of our folks from ticket ops to figure out the best way of organizing moving forward. On the other hand, I don't mind slowly getting the message to people not to bother buying tix in that section if they don't plan on standing.
I don't know what Jerry was talking about - the next GNO will be Mar 20 against the Clippers. It's a Hardwood Classics Night and we're giving away mini '94-'95 championship banners. (I apologize for posting back-to-back-to-back)
It wasn't a GNO, actually, it was season ticket holder appreciation or somesuch. Should be $10 off the $50 tickets that are in the Red Alert section. One possible way to get around the angry fans behind Red Alert next year would be to put (an additional one in section 114?) the section back a little bit. The $40 seats would make it slightly easier for us to afford multiple games as well. Evan
Since it seems there are not many "promotional" nights left, how bout offering some season ending packages in the red alert section? See what kind of response you get to give you a good idea about how to plan for next year. I for one would be interesting in buying a season's worth to seat in that section if there was a decent rate, and im sure if I couldnt attend the game I could try and unload them here or elsewhere.
That's awesome K. btw - Surfguy is one of the original members here at CFnet and is of course a HUGE Rush fan.
